I had a Criterion Barrel from Jim Briggs chambered in .308, 1-11 twist, freebore 0.90. This thing shoots 175-178 bullets verygood. I would like to shoot the 185 Berger LRBT for 1000 yards and down to a 155 class bullet for 600 yards. What freebore can I get away with, if possible, and not be over jumping the 155's and still get the 185 out far enough to get the speed for 1000 yards?

Thanks,
Don Dunlap

Re: .308 Freebore

My 95 palma chamber with the current batch of 155 lapuas, my OAL is 2.810 and that is .005 off the lands... My reamer has a .090 freebore...

Hope this helps..

Re: .308 Freebore

Started trying out, and have had good luck with, the 185 Berger Juggernaut. Berger lists this bullet with a separate part number from their 185 match BT long range target bullet, but the G1 and G7 BCs are the same. Maybe someone could tell us what, if anything, is the difference?

In my rifle, the 185 Juggernaut likes jumping:

Re: .308 Freebore

SW, they are the same bullet. I've read a few post on these, and those that know 1st hand either from Berger or Bryan have been told they are the same bullet. They did this for marketing reasons.

Ty dgd. I am happy to have found these sitting on the shelf in my local shop (and at less than the internet price).

Re: .308 Freebore

My round is loaded at 2.90 with a 175 SMK just off the lands. My buddy that has the same barrel is loading 185 Berger LRBT at 2.923 and jumping about .020 . If his info is correct I should not have an issue with what I'm gonna shoot. 155 - 185.
