How do you remove the roll pin to remove the bolt catch on a DPMS LR-308? On an AR-15 you can use a slab side punch to drive the pin out, but the pin is blind on the LR. I do not need to (nor am I planning to) remove this pin or the bolt catch. This question is more for personal edification. Thank you.

It should be an allen-head screw.

A clear case of "your eyes see what you expect them to see." Not knowing any better I expected a roll pin. Then, seeing that there is no way to drive a pin out I though, "how is that supposed to come out?" Turns out that it is a 1/16" allen head screw. Thanks Ledzep. I don't plan to take anything apart now, but I may have the gun hydra-dipped in the future and will need to be able to get it broken down before dipping. And, if I decide to get an extended bolt catch, removing the screw is a bunch easier than driving out a pin.

You're welcome. Be careful with that screw (maybe even buy an extra or two ). The socket area breaks very easily on installation.
