Re: ax .338

AX.338LM starts in the UK at £4,440.00 incl. 20% VAT....so export would be £3700.00

AX.338LM advertised by one well-known Hide sponsor starts at $7.907.00 excl. tax, shipping and handling (at current exchange rates that is £5,036.00)

You'd need to double check the specs to get a like-for-like on price...but you get the idea.

Exporting a UK made rifle from the US (with all the implied State Dept paperwork/delay and additional expense) seems like the wrong call to me......no disrespect to any of the Hide vendors, it is just the wrong thing for you (IMHO).

If I were you I'd call Graeme at Sporting Services in the UK.
He does a lot of business with Aus. He also publishes a complete, easy-to-understand Price List.....

All the info you need...just a click or two away

Good luck!

Re: ax .338

G'day tikkat3, how's it going?.

blaser - on the US export...if the vendor you choose doesn't ship internationally, you will need to find a tame FFL in the US to handle the transfer and export documentation application/freight for you.

Just to say...I'm six months into waiting on the State Dept to grant an export licence for a '41 dated Finnish M39....so, if you choose to go the US route, hope you are patient?

Re: ax .338

FYI,
The export license from the UK to the USA and the import permit from the USA prohibits the re-export of AI products.
Sporting Services of the UK is our official distributor for the civilian market in Australia.

Yep, give Sporting Services a call - that's how many Kiwis get their AIs.
