Nice and Hot(108')day of Shooting.. Target is 730 yards. You can see the target in the first pic if you look across the canyon. It is the little black dot in the open area. Shooting a Rem 700 .308.

Looks like a nice place to shoot!

Not too many opportunities like that this side of the pond unless you own half of Scotland!!

What's with the paintball/airsoft outfit?

Yea it was pretty brutal. It was 112 the day before so I guess I got lucky lol. Thank God for that tree though that gave good shade.

108 is not all that bad with shade and water!

is it blm (public) or private land? </div></div>

Yea the shade did help out alot... The Land is a Private 3,000 acre Horse/Cattle Ranch 2 hrs south of San Francisco. Tons of space lol.

Re: Sunday Gunday, How does your Shoulder feel Monday!

Nice landscape, I would rather be in 108 degrees then 95 with 100% humidity makes shooting miserable down here in Texas.

Haha yea you are so right... A dry heat is so much easier to "deal" with then heat with 90-100% humidity making your day and your Sack more miserable then it already is lol.

This is a common misconception. 95* with 100% humidity would give a heat index of 161*...aint happenin'. It's a rare occasion to have a relative humidity over 60% when the temperature is above 95*, which would yield a heat index of 113*. Here in SW TN as well as in Houston, air temps of 95* with relative humidity of 50-55% are fairly common in July and August which yields a heat index of 105*-109*. Just fyi...

Re: Sunday Gunday, How does your Shoulder feel Monday!

Here in MN this summer was REAL bad. Did not even feel like shooting on the weekends. After working 5-6 days in the sun, and yes it would get 90 deg. with 80% Hum. = 113 degrees F., all I wanted to do was stay indoors with A/C or be at the lake. It gets to be a real bitch when the humidity is that high. Oh, and that sure looks like a great place to shoot. Even though I would not want to live in California or San Francisco for that matter.

The only thing that is shitty about California is all the Hippy Liberal D-bags and the Gun Laws they came up with. Other then that you cant beat it.. Or the weather.

contrare my shooting brother.
granted, this time of year is beyond the miseries that i am willing to endure, but from Nov to May we train and run and gun out in the deserts above 29 palms. all BLM land.

we get 1000+ yards, canyons with yotes, empty buildings for CQB.

you just have to recon and explore

Re: Sunday Gunday, How does your Shoulder feel Monday!

Like I always say "Nothing wrong with California, it is the people in politics and Hollywood that are the problem."

That does look like a nice range. I wish I had a place to shoot up to 1000 yards.

Re: Sunday Gunday, How does your Shoulder feel Monday!

Beautiful landscape!

Re: Sunday Gunday, How does your Shoulder feel Monday!

That looks like an awesome place to do some shooting. 108 isnt bad if you got shade. Tomorrow, my brother and myself will be going out shooting in the desert, no shade unless you bring it, gonna be about 110*.
