I think it is angle of picture ,And the front tube is not exactly the same angle to the barrel.

Can you tell us what kind of stock that is on your Mossberg 42m? That is a great looking and shooting gun!

Re: show some pics of your rimfire sticks!!

That's a good looking rifle and the scope/muzzle cover is an especially nice touch.

How is the PWS working for you so far? I've been thinking about one for a long time. It's probably the only reason I'd consider putting another "10/22" type rifle together.

Re: show some pics of your rimfire sticks!!

They are a great bit of kit. Nice and light, really nice factory trigger with plenty of room for adjustment if you feel it needs it. Puts together some really tidy groups; loves the Lapua Centre-X stuff.

Over here in Aussieland, this is as close as we will get to a semi-auto rifle; but it sure makes me want a "real" 10/22.

You guys get all the good toys

Yeah i chopped it to 19 or 20... I cant remember. I looked up the max barrel length needed for full velocity with 22wmr and I went with that.

I used adco firearms in ohio to thread, they do the best thread work as far as Im concerned, are reasonably priced, and have fast turn around times.

The bolt knob is really nice to have. But only after you work your bolt. I pulled my bolt and high polished with a high speed hand tool all the bearing surfaces to a mirror like, chome polish. Also the bearing surface in the action.

With the bolt slick the knob makes rapid bolt manipulation easy. You can work the bolt while your round is in the air and still spot it. If you polish it enough there will be very little torque input to the rifle when you unlock the bolt.

if you get the bolt knob and dont polish the action you are just left with a larger lever then before to tilt your rifle over. Im not sure if they are all like that but my cz455 action was pretty stiff from the factory.

Ruger 10/22 with TacSol SBX barrel in a Troy Chassis. Still looking for an optic for it, thinking about getting a 1-4x so it's similar to my AR for training purposes.

Ruger 22/45 MK3 with TacSol Pac-Lite threaded upper. Plan on getting a Burris Fast Fire for it.

Still waiting for my SS Sparrow can to clear, should be in the next month if the tracker is correct.

Re: show some pics of your rimfire sticks!!

My first post on here so i might as well post a pic or two of my 10/22. So far this site has been great source of info on building my 308 also. I just need more time in the day to read up! Started out as a stock Ruger 10/22 and upgraded to Volquarsten fluted barrel and scope mount. Hornet 2.5lb trigger. Millet 6x25x56 LRS scope and thumbhole southpaw stock. Just got it finished up and haven't had a chance to try it out yet.

Now this is quite a rig, but does raise a question. Is Schmidt & Bender as respected and expensive a scope in Europe as it is here? or is it simply considered affordable and commonplace?

A new Kidd on the block...

267229_176522152485035_1310790408_n.jpg

Here is a picture of my newly assembled and SH inspired 1022. The build consists of a Ruger SS receiver (the only remnant of the stock rifle); Kidd 18” barrel, scalloped bolt, and two stage trigger; McMillan 1022 Sporter Stock; and a Murphy Precision 20 MOA scope base. The (temporary) IOR scope was also purchased off of the PX.

As I mentioned the rifle was really inspired and made possible by various SH members. Here is a list of the members who deserve credit:

Ares64- whose excellent write up on his own 1022 inspired me to follow his build and in particular to use and customize the McMillan 1022 Sporter Stock.
TacticalJ and 308Dude- whose posts on stock texturing enabled me to recontour the pistol grip and apply texture to the grip and forearm.
ShortBus- whose incredible “NightStalker” camouflage paint job really put the project over the top and made it special. Branden was terrific to work with and provided outstanding service and a quick turn around.

Needless to say I’m really pleased with the way the little rifle turned out and now I only hope it shoots as good as it looks.

I'm very curious where the adapter came from, I think I'm going to end up putting one on my 522 as well and free float the barrel.

Re: show some pics of your rimfire sticks!!

ShootingStar that stock looks vicious . Have you shot the rifle yet ? The entire build is a work of art IMO. I cant even imagine how much money you have into that before the glass. Let us know how she shoots at 200+ yards please if you get a chance.

Re: show some pics of your rimfire sticks!!

Gents,

Appologies for delay in answering about my Sig522 build.

The FF adpter is made by a guy here in the UK! It is nicely made and installs in minutes. You can then use any type of AR FF tube as the threads on the new adapter are the same as found on an AR frame.

One thing to note is there will be a slight difference in height between the Sig rail and the rails on the top of an AR FF tube

The same guy also makes a very nice extended safety.

http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/ee177/willspics/sig%20parts/safetycomparison.jpg

The FF tube I used was a Midwest Industries 12" SS series.

I would think he'd mail parts to the US with no problem.

Re: show some pics of your rimfire sticks!!

I figured it was a cheaper route since I already have a bunch of 10/22 mags and accessories. It feels and works great, very solid.
