I have had good luck in my previous shooting stints using a front and rear sandbag rest. One in the front had rabbit ears and the rear was small and flat..
Can anyone give a recommendation on a good set? I'm sure there are better rests out there now..

VJJ, I think he is just refering to an outing. As in one range visit = one shooting stint

Glad I could help. Here are the only other quality bags I would recommend, but they cost more. http://edgebag.com/ Who is better depends on who you ask. Both are very good.
Most of the other bags people seem to be steering you towards in this thread are great if you need to carry them around, but if they are just going from your truck to the shooting bench a heavy bag full of sand is better.
