Gunsmithing 22/45 question

Re: 22/45 question

IMO, welding a comp to a .22 is a bad idea. They will build up with lead quickly and are hard to clean even when removable. VQ makes one that just slides over the barrel and is secured with a set screw. IMO, comps do absolutely nothing for a .22 other then make the muzzle heavier. Save your money. Not sure it would do anything but you can always have your barrel ported. But then again, save your money. If your looking to dump money into a .22 pistol I would look for a older version like the MKII in SS.
