maybe this is not the place to post such a question..

I have a savage mod 10 22-250 varminter rifle
and it has the 1 in 12 twist so it will not shoot
the heavy bullets for f class..

If I wanted to rebarrel it to something that would
be accurate to compete with what would be a good
choice? Something I can use the same bolt, etc with..

And something that is not going to rob the bank..
I was thinking of the 6mmbr...Can this be done?
I know I will need to get dies and brass for whatever
route I decide to take..Thanks for your expertice...

Re: need some advice please

+1 on the 6.5 creed. i think 260 might be the way of the dodo's in a few years

Re: need some advice please

Either of the 6.5's mentioned would do well. So would 243, 6XC, 6SLR, 7 Creed, 7-08, and a whole bunch of others that I missed that share that bolt-head. Not to mention it is a Savage, and bolt heads take about 5 minutes to change... So that opens it up to everything you can stuff into a short action!
