1-Day Introductory Pistol 8 September

The introductory pistol course is designed to teach the operation of the semi-automatic pistol, the fundamentals of pistol marksmanship and how to safely draw a pistol from the holster and place well aimed shots on multiple targets. Students completeing the course will have a thorough understanding of firearms safety, the fundamentals of pistol marksmanship and the training methodology to continue improving their skills after the course.

The following topics will be taught in the course:

Safety
Loading and clearing
Fundamentals of pistol marksmanship
Malfunctions
The draw and proper presentation to the target
Multiple shots and multiple targets
Training methodology and drills
Ammo requirements: 500 rounds of pistol ammunition per person.

Prerequisite: None – this is an introductory course.

Training schedule: Show time is 7:45 am with instruction starting at 8:00 am and ending at 5 pm.

Individual equipment:

Pistol with 5 magazines
Belt with holster and magazine pouches
Weapon cleaning kit (with oil)
Eye and ear protection (clear and shaded lens are recommended)
Water/Snacks (1 hr lunch break)
Hat/Gloves
Rain or inclement weather gear
Sun screen (non-greasy or water resistant recommended)
Course includes: 8 hours of instruction and a certificate of completion.

Cost: $210 tuition fee or $340 package price - includes all of the above and rental of pistol, magazine pouch, magazines, eye and ear protection, and ammunition.

Most items on the gear list can be rented via the application at additional cost or purchased at the Proshop

2- Day Tactical Pistol 13-14 September


This course is designed to teach the pistol handling skills required in a tactical environment. It emphasizes surgical marksmanship and the mastering of basic skills. It gives the shooter the skills, training mindset and methodology necessary to train themselves.

The following topics will be taught in the course:

Safety
Loading and clearing
Diagnostic evaluation
Fundamentals of pistol marksmanship
Malfunctions
The draw and proper presentation to the target
Shooting positions
Multiple shots and multiple targets
The set-up
Shooting on the move (laterally/straight on)
Firing from retention
Shooting from behind barricades and covered positions
Training methodology and drills
Ammo requirements: 1200 rounds of pistol ammunition per person.

Prerequisite (one of the following):

Successful completion of TSI Introductory Pistol or Carbine Course
Active Law Enforcement or Military
USPSA “C” Classification or higher
IDPA Sharpshooter Classification or higher
Training schedule: Show time is 7:45 am with instruction starting at 8:00 am and ending at 5 pm.

Individual equipment:

Pistol with 5 magazines
Belt with holster and magazine pouches
Knee and elbow pads (optional)
Weapon cleaning kit
Rain or inclement weather gear
Eye and ear protection (clear and shaded lens are recommended)

3-Day Street Officer Survival Course 17-19 September

Law Enforcement Officers face violent encounters everyday while protecting our streets. A combination of classroom instruction, range fire and scenario based training is used to prepare Officers for violent encounters. During this three-day course, Officers will be placed in realistic scenarios to evaluate and teach decision making and develop the skills required to survive these violent encounters.

The following topics will be taught in the course:

Fundamentals of pistol marksmanship
Target discrimination drills
How to identify and use cover and concealment
Target transitions and multiple target drills
Operating and shooting in low- to no-light environments
Medium shoot (glass, sheet-rock, wooden doors)
Active shooter concerns and how to mitigate the Officer’s risk
Identifying and reacting to ambushes
Shooting on the move and the set-up
Firing from retention
Force-on-force scenarios using SIMS or UTM rounds
“Warrior” mindset
Ammo requirements: 700 rounds of pistol ammunition per person.

Prerequisite: Law Enforcement or Military Only

Training schedule: Show time is 7:30 am with instruction starting at 8:00 am.

Individual equipment:

Pistol with 5 magazines
Holsters, magazine pouches
Knee and elbow pads (optional)
Weapon cleaning kit (with oil for guns)
Eye and ear protection (clear and shaded lens are recommended)
Water/Snacks (1 hr lunch break)

Sun Screen (non-greasy or water resistant recommended)
Provided equipment:

UTM® Pistol (customer preference of Glock, Sig Sauer, Beretta)
UTM® safety gear
100 rounds of UTM Man Marker Rounds
Holster and magazine carrier
Course includes: 24 hours of instruction and a certificate of completion.

Cost: $620 tuition fee or $830 package price - includes all of the above and rental of pistol, magazine pouch, magazines, eye and ear protection and required ammunition.

10 Day Tactical Firearms Instructor Course 17-28 September

This train the trainer course is designed to develop Tactical Firearms Instructors who can return to their organizations as lead instructors and true subject matter experts. Students will increase their skill level and effectiveness with the rifle and pistol as well as their ability to instruct others in the safe and proper use of both weapons.

Students in the course will be expected to conduct “Teach Backs” of learned material to TSI’s instructors and fellow students. Students must succesfully pass practical and written exams to receive an Instructor Certificate. Course will be conducted in two 5-day blocks.

The following topics will be taught in the course:

Safety
Marksmanship training resources and references
Training management
Diagnostic tools
Outcomes based training
Brilliance in the Basics® training methodology
Fundamentals of rifle and pistol marksmanship
Tactical marksmanship techniques and training drills
Malfunctions
Ballistics
Identifying and correcting shooter errors

Limited visibility marksmanship techniques, training and safety considerations
Teaching/coaching/mentoring techniques
Presentation styles and techniques
Ammo requirements: 2500 rounds of rifle ammunition and 2500 rounds of pistol ammunition per person

Prerequisite:

Law Enforcement or Military
Graduate of the TSI 5-Day Mil/LE Pistol and Carbine Course
Expert marksmanship rating/credentials with both the pistol and the carbine
Military personal must be minimum rank of E-5
Law Enforcement personnel must be an instructor with their department
Training schedule: Show time is 7:30 am with instruction starting at 8:00 am.

Individual equipment:

Carbine with 5 magazines
Pistol with 5 magazines
Individually issued equipment (LBE, Ballistic or Protective Vest with associated magazine pouches.)
Weapon mounted flashlight for carbine
Hand held flashlight
Knee and Elbow pads (optional)
Weapon cleaning kit (with oil for guns)
Rain or inclement weather gear
Eye and Ear protection (clear and shaded lens are recommended)
Water/Snacks (1 hr lunch break)
Hat /Gloves (rifles will get hot)
Sun screen (non-greasy or water resistant recommended)
Optical sight for rifle (Optional, but highly recommended.)
Night Vision Goggles (NGVs)
Weapon mounted Infared laser (PEQ-2/PEQ-15)
Course includes: 84 hours of instruction and a certificate of completion.

3 Day Tactical Pistol and Carbine 22-24 September

This course is designed to teach and develop the weapons handling skills needed in a tactical environment. It emphasizes safety, awareness and surgical marksmanship. Shooters will focus on constructive training venues throughout the course, giving them the skills, training mindset and methodology necessary to train themselves.

The following topics will be taught in the course:

Diagnostic evaluation with both weapons
Sights, zeroing, external ballistics, slings, equipment setup
Fundamentals of rifle and pistol marksmanship
Reloading & malfunction drills
Shooting positions
Multiple shots / multiple targets Drills
The Set-up and shooting on the move
Shooting from barricades & covered positions
Efficient training methodology and drills
Ammo requirements: 1200 rounds of pistol ammunition, 750 rounds of rifle ammunition.

Prerequisite (one of the following):

Successful completion of TSI Introductory Pistol or Carbine Course
Active Law Enforcement or Military
USPSA “C” Classification or higher
IDPA Sharpshooter Classification or higher
Training schedule: Show time is 0730 with instruction starting at 8am and ending at 5pm.

Individual equipment:

Pistol with 5 magazines / Carbine with 5 magazines
Belt with holster and magazine pouches
Magazine holder for the carbine/rifle.
Knee and Elbow pads (optional)
Weapon cleaning kit (with Oil for guns.)
Rain or inclement weather gear
Eye and Ear protection (clear and shaded lens are recommended)
Water / Snacks / Lunch (We’ll take an hour lunch break around noon. Lunch can also be purchased at fast food restaurants within a 10 mile radius of the range.)
Hat / Gloves (rifles will get hot.)
Sun Screen (non-greasy or water resistant recommended)
Optical Sight for rifle (Optional, but highly recommended.)
Course includes: 24 hours of instruction and a certificate of completion.
