Hello Hide Members!

I'm a Marine combat vet 1999-2005 (OEF/OIF). Been looking forward to building a few LR rifles for fun and hunting out west since my return from my last tour, and finally got around to it this last year. I've been lurking for about a year now without posting and figure now that I've finished my new stick, I could stand to get a bit more involved! I just wanted to mention that the info I've gathered here has been key during the building process and development of my next project. Thank you all!!!

Here are some pics of my sophomore effort, keep in mind it is principally for LR mule deer hunting...not comp.

Re: 1st Post and New Stick

Very nice! Who makes that stock? What chambering is it in?

Re: 1st Post and New Stick

Sorry, left out some details.

Savage 110BA in 338LM
Murphy Precision 30MOA base
Woodland Tactical Duracoat
NF NXS 5.5-22 (HS Zstop)(Hi Rings)

The thats the stock chassis with Magpul PRS2. I need to fab a new...read higher...recoil pad tho as this one is TOO low when prone. I like to have a little more meat connected to the skewer!

Re: 1st Post and New Stick

Welcome! Great looking setup . . . by my 3rd post this site had me $4k in debt.

Re: 1st Post and New Stick

But $4k that makes you grin everytime it goes BANG is $4k well spent, right?!

Re: 1st Post and New Stick

Welcome! Nice squirrel gun! :p I've got the same but no paint, different grip and a different brake. I have a Manners T4A on order as well as a Timney Trigger. Should be a nice upgrade!

What are your plans for moving the recoil pad?

I remember seeing a post from another 'Hide member doing the same thing. He just used a chunk of aluminum to raise it about an inch.

Re: 1st Post and New Stick

I'm in the process of designing one on Pro-E. Either CNC or wjet the part when ready. Hmmm...maybe theres a market for them? I'll have to test it thoroughly first of course!
