Hey all, first time actually posting in the Fitness section, just looking for some answers. I started the Insanity Regiment today (day 1 is the fitness test).

I didn't do too bad, better than i expected but i did yakk up some of my dinner from 6 hours ago. Thats what the pause button's for! Got right back on track after, and was trembling by the end and sweating like a whore in church.

Needless to say, I can definetly see how this is going to go for the next 2 months, but i wanted to know if anybody out there has finished he 60 days and what their results were?

I'm 5"6', 187lbs, 24 years old and wish to get back down to around 170-165 like i was 3 years ago.

Anybody else go Insane yet? (yeah terrible pun, i'm sorry) Haha.

Check. Completed Insanity while in the field. It'll lean you out, strengthen joints/ligaments, improve balance, and increase cardiovascular output. Be sure to eat lean and conservative.

Don't chase the weight "loss" goal. InSanity affects every athlete differently. Jettisoned 7lbs and increased plyometric volume. Definitely improved rock climbing, trail running, and combatives routines.

Commit to the ENTIRE regime. You will achieve results.

I haven't finished it yet but I am in phase 2. Push as hard as you can for phase 1 because its sole purpose is to get you ready for phase 2. If you shortcut phase 1 then phase 2 will punish you for it every day. I saw good results in the first month. I lost a couple of pounds and I could see a big difference in how I looked and felt. Even though I didn't lose a ton of weight (I didn't have a bunch to lose) my waist line shrank from all of the ab work. It is a good program that can yield solid results if you really get after it every day. Definitely don't recommend eating before hand!

I was gonna hit it today, but I hit snooze.. lol\
Good going for you though. Keep it up.
to the O.P. : I wish I was 187lb haha

Done and done. Keep motivated cause it gets rediculously repetitive. I lost 10 lbs (not all that much) but I felt great. My only real complaint was having my legs constantly sore, it's like every day is a quad and calf day.

My wife just completed it. If you comit to it, it will work. She is definitely more toned up from it. She didn't lose hardly any weight (didn't have any to lose) but you can really see some definition in her abs and arms. I know she really cussed phase 2 though! Good luck !

Keep after it, you'll get exactly what you put into it. If you work hard and stay consistent, you'll see and more importantly feel the difference.

I did the Insanity cycle. It is definitely a cardio smoker. I lost about 14 lbs without even eating super strict. The good thing about it is you can adjust your personal skill level and limitations within the workouts and still get a kick ass workout. I was sucking wind all the way through, but I was working harder as I went along, so by the end, I was sucking wind at a higher level

If you are older (I'm 45) or have joint issues, you are going to feel it. My left knee got really bad, especially from the plyo jumping. After a few weeks, I just substituted something else for the big jumps.

It does get a little repetitive. There are a lot of pushups, but this is not a muscle building program. The majority of the work is with your legs. It is kinda funny though because by the time you get to the pushup intervals, you are already at the top of your max cardio levels and trying to do pushups when you are out of breath is quite the experience.

I did the first and second fit test, but found them unnecessary after that. You know you are improving.

I would never do the entire program again, but I do use my 4 favorite programs on my heavy cardio days now, so 2-3 times a week mixed in with weight lifting days.

A shooting buddy and his wife are currently in the program, they both seem to like, but also say legs are always sore. Good luck

Insanity is an awesome program. It really beats the hell out of you. First time I attempted it I quit after the first month. I rested for a few weeks and got back into it and was able to complete it.
