Maybe someone here can help a brother out. I have a Leupold two piece base on my rifle. I had a Leupold 30mm scope on it. I just bought an Valdada (IOR) 3.5-18X50 which has a 35mm main body. The rings that came with the scope look almost exactly like my old ones (just a bit Bigger) but will not mount on my base. The piece that fits into the notch is a tad large, I measured it last night and it measured .035" bigger than the notch width. I am trying to explain to the guy at SWFA what my problem is. He told me to send him a pic of my base, I did, he then said the rings would work, they do not, can someone here without seeing what I'm talking about tell me what I need? I am about to send the rings back along with one of my old ones so they can see the difference, but thought someone here may could advise farther. Thanks in advance for your time.

Re: Help with rings

Sounds like the base might be a weaver spec and the rings picatinny spec. A lot of people claim to be pic spec, but turn out not to be. The recoil notch should be .206'' to be true 1913 picatinny spec. I suspect you need to get a true pic spec base....otherwise the file comes out... Mic the recoil notch and recoil lug in the rings, that should tell the tale

Re: Help with rings

Just ordered a seekings base. That should solve this problem.
