I ordered a 6.5 Creedmore barrel to replace the .308. can some one tell me what the msximum effective range is for on e of these

"maximum effective range" of the cartridge isn't as important as the maximum effective range of the shooter is

but good call on the Creedmoor, you'll notice significantly less wind drift than your old .308 once you start reaching out with it

With the right bullet it will far exceed the effective range of a .308 whether you're wanting to target shoot or hunt. It carries a lot more energy farther out due to higher BC bullets and more velocity. If you use the factory 140gr AMAX bullets it pretty much will outperform the .308 in everything except it makes a bit smaller hole.
You won't be disappointed! Good choice!

My link - fu is weak, but there are a couple of excellent threads that go into detail on the Creeedmore. One or two of the mods here have used it extensively.
