Hello SH. Long time lurker, first time poster with a lot of questions, so I will just get to the point. I recently purchased the prev.mentioned Savage 110 BA in .338 LM. I have already picked the Leupold Mark 4 6.5-20x50 as my glass but I was wondering what rings/mounts I should use? I have noticed several different concerns with clearance with the quad mount that comes with the rifle and would like to know in advance how to overcome it without removing the mount. Any help with this or advice for gun will be greatly appreciated. Sorry for the long post.

Re: Savage 110 BA .338 LM questions

I have the 110 BA and just mounted an NXS Night Force 5.5-22X56 with the Night Force Ultra-Light High mounts Part # A107

These gave me just enough room between the objective and the base ( barley enough to get the lens cover on )
You may be able to get away with medium rings with your 50mm objective.
The NF rings are excellent and can be bought through a variety of online vendors.

Re: Savage 110 BA .338 LM questions

i have the same rifle only in .300wm and just picked up a new optic today. i got the vortex viper PST 6-24x50 FFP and sort of went cheap on the rings. i got the millett tactical high rings and i have plentey of clearance over the front rail. all in all for 49 bucks they are pretty decent rings after being lapped and the scope mounted correctly.

Re: Savage 110 BA .338 LM questions

On my 110BA I use the Badger Ordnance Marine Corps issue SASR rings....perfect clearance...just enough room for flip up caps on my Nightforce 5.5-22x56....Read about them...about the best you can get...not one problem, and they didnt need lapping, they fit great out of the box....I have had them mounted for over a year and they are still solid...hope this helps brotha!
