In f/class points are scored for hiting the center of the target and the farther away from the center you hit the less amount of points you get......I think thats right.

In a tactical compitition are you shooting bullseyes or are you just trying to "hit" the target and a hit is a hit.

please explain because I don't know how these things work.

Re: question about scoring

For the most part, a hit is a hit. Some will give more points for a first round hit.

The primary targets at a tactical match are steel, so you either hit it or you don't.

Some paper stages do give more points for closer to bulls eye, but it is rare.

In a tac comp, it would take to long to score anything but a hit or miss.

Re: question about scoring

thank you, thats the way it was for BRM qualification in the Army. I worked all the POI's at various times but spent the majority of time on Practice Record Fire 1. 40 targets come up one at a time from 25-300 yards. They stay up for 5 seconds then go down. if you miss or don't get the shot off in time it counts as a miss, but as long as you hit the target any where it counts as a hit. 20 shots in the fox hole supported and 20 in the prone unsupported.
