You can’t get much easier than a Manners stocks with the MCS-DBM Mini Chassis, the action drops in, you torque it down then load and insert AICS mag and bang away.

Then there are many chassis that are also drop in and use the AICS mags as well. McRee Precison is a good one and what I have, good price too!

You have almost everything open to you stock and chasis wise. Everything from Manners to McMillan to AICS.

First way for us to help you is what do you want a Stock or a Chasis?

For the $1000 price range two of my favorites is the AICS (I have) and the XLR (reading and looks, also thinking of getting for my Tikka T3).

Here is a link to some chasis systems.

+1. The manners mini chassis is the way to go. With an adjustable stock it should come in around $975. With a non-adjustable stock it will be ~$840.

I have a Manner T4A (OD Green) with Badger Mini Chassis for Sell. Comes with 2 Alpha Mag 10 Rd Mags. I'm looking for $1,050 shipped to your door. It's currently sitting on my Remy 700 .260 but only been to the Range once. Let me know if you're interested.

Re: Need Help With Budget .308 Rem 700 Mod

You have MANY options for your budget.
AICS Chassis
XLR Chassis
McCree Chassis
PDC Chassis

Not sure what the Whiskey Three goes for.
You can also go the manners route.
I looked seriously at the manners, very nice stock. By the time it was outfitted with the DBM, it was around 1,000 bucks.

If you would like to save some coin,
A B&C stock, send to Jeff at CDI, have him inlet for his bottom metal, total out of pocket around 500 bones (depending on stock).

I went with the XLR and have been nothing short of pleased. Kyle is a pleasure to deal with and his chassis is excellent.

I would jump on hogtooth's offer, I have the same stock in desert camo and it is great. Plus you would be getting it for cheaper and with 2 mags and no 4 month wait. Great deal all around

Go with the adjustable cheek piece, I almost did not and would have regretted it.

Check out a Mcree chassis, they're absolutely rock solid. It has a DBM, adjustable cheek piece/ length of pull, and its a drop in install with no need for bedding. It comes with a fixed or folding buttstock too.

I have the Competition Machine Inc. tube gun stock.
http://www.gotxring.com/tactical/
I think these stocks blow the other chassis into the effing weeds. Let's break it down.
Adj. length of pull
Adj. cant
Adj. ambidextrous cheek pc.
Adj. cast
BREAK-DOWN-STOCK!
Customize your pistol grip
Drop in barelled action
Built-in 20 deg. scope rail
...(rest, rest, rest...)
Right or left hand
Uses AICS five or ten round magazines
Available with rear accessory rail or bag rider
Two QD sling swivel cups
Cerakote finish is included
Personalized service (that would be Gary)
Price: $1,020 (close enough)
...
...did I leave anything out? Oh, wait, I was just over there and Gary was setting up a new CNC lathe so...shorter waiting period. I can say that because I don't work there (no pressure, Gary)

Go manners, I have 3 now and see no reason to look elsewhere for the next purpose.Best bet is to try to feel different types. Good luck
