Lyman 1200 DPS 3 issues!!!

Ok, so I bought a Lyman 1200 DPS 3 autoloader and I am having nothing but issues with it. I am loading right now and the darn thing won't throw consistant loads. I am loading 44gr of Varget and out of the 20+ loads thus far, I have only got 8 with the right weight. I have zeroed it out many times to try and fix it with no luck. It averages .3 grains over thrown, with the high being .8 grains.

Does anyone have one of these powder dispensers and if so have you experienced the same problems.

Did you let it warm up for the required 30 minutes? Overnight is probably even better. I just leave mine on all the time now. Also, are you loading in an area with no drafts? Mine seems to be very sensitive to the AC for example.

I let it warm up for 30 minutes and actually didn't start using it for almost an hour. I have been working with it for almost 4 hours now and I just came back in and it is still doing the same thing. I don't have any drafts where I am reloading. Very frustrating to say the least.

Put the black little restriction insert in the end of the feed tube if you haven't already.

Keep cell phones at a distance, electronics and certain types of lighting (flourescent) have adverse effects.

I agree with cotntop. Last time I used mine it was stopping before the complete charge was thrown, not zeroing after charge was emptied from pan, and stopping at charge weight then the scale reading would bounce all over the place.
I had my cell phone a few feet away from it playing music. When I shut it off the scale started acting normal.
I also have the close the air vent in my reloading room when using it or the draft makes it go nuts too.

I took my cell phone back in the house, turned off the radio and made sure there were no drafts. I ended up setting it for 43.7 and just trickling to 44gr. That is the only way it will work. using the auto setting is out of the question.

I've experianced similar issues. Mine is usually a tenth high, so I set a tenth low. Also, make sure that it's on a surface that won't shift, even if you"re walking past. I put mine on a seperate bench so that while I'm seating bullets, it won't interfere with the scale. You're right though, they are very much a pain in the ass...

it would be interesting to see if RCBS's loaders are this touchy??. This is a big pain in arse to say the least.

I put mine on a seperate bench as well to rule out having any other movements that could throw it off.
