Re: Copper plated or jacketed 9mm

I use Barry's 124 FPHB in all of my 9s . Awesome bullet to practice and target shoot with . Have shoot literally thousands of them and never an issue . Supposed to keep them below 1250 fps , which is not an issue . Try 5.5 grains Power Pistol . With the extra long bearing surface of the HB , I haven't found a more accurate load in my 92 and a Sig 225 . These were even better a few years ago when they could be had for 65 bucks a thousand

These are plated , and if I'm not mistaken I don't think Barry's makes any FMJ handgun projectiles . Take a look at your packaging too see , as you might be using a plated bullet already .

Give the HB a try , mistakenly bought 1000 of them a few years back and the results were better than their standard flat based bullets .

Re: Copper plated or jacketed 9mm

I have been shooting plated bullets in everything from .380 to 45 colt, no worries especially for plinker loads, you wouldbe surprised how accurate they can be. Jacketed is only absolutely necessary when hunting or defense ammo, any other target don't care what they are hit with. If they were bad juju you really t think that the companies that make them would still be in business.
have fun at the range.

Re: Copper plated or jacketed 9mm

I've put over 1000 Berry's through my .40 both rs & hbrn. All have done great. I love the full plating, they're very clean to load.

all I shoot in my glocks (17-19-20-35) are rainier ballistics, and they shoot just like plated bullets, no roblems or worries at all, this is experiance from shooting over 270,000 rds of reloads in 9 years too, the rainier plant is 1/2 hour drive from my house so I just pick them up.
