I am beginning a new 338 Lapua build. It seems that the 1-9.35 twist barrel from Krieger is the new hot, trendy barrel. For throwing the 300 bergers or SMKS, it seems that Krieger is the only one who really recommends the 9.35-5 twist. According to Berger and Sierra 1-10. Who shall I believe, the barrel maker or the bullet maker? Is the 9.35 twist really better? Not to cast doubt on Krieger or Berger or Sierra, I am just not that experienced to know for myself.

I know I will never be able to shoot as good as the capability of my rifle, I can only dream.

Either one will work. I have shot numerous 338`s with the 10ROT and it works. Don`t let anyone tell you any different. We have shot the 300gr Bergers and 300gr Sierra`s out to 2450yds with these rifles with great accuracy.

Re: 338 Lapua 9.35 or 10 Twist

I just had a 338 built by 10X custom with a 1 in 8 twist Hart barrel. Kind of worried. They said they did loads of R & D for the military. I wanted a 9.3, they said they had the best results with 1 in 8 and would swap me if I wasn't happy. Hope to get it next week. Will update later.
