Anyone own one yet? Range report? Looks promising with a factory enhanced (whatever that means) threaded barrel and tall suppressor sights. Finally, a manufacturer has listend to what we want.

I bet it haas nothing to do with AAC and remington having the same parent company. Looks very nice.

I would say it has to do with the fact that AAC was having custom guns done by Nighthawk and not as many people as they thought could afford the price tag. So they have their sister company build a suppressor ready 1911. Which is a good idea but they screwed up by not offering it with a light rail IMO.

I've got some coming as well. Ill put one through its paces. I actually prefer it without a rail
because it will be a range gun and I just don't need a light

Their universal sights might work but would need to be installed by a 1911 smith.

Lights are critical when hunting dangerous game at night and you are packing it as a sidearm. There are many uses for a light on a pistol and while it's not for everyone I would rather have it equipped with one and not have the light on vs. not having the option at all.

Re: New Remington 1911R1 suppressor host

If I were hunting dangerous game at night, I would probably use a light. Unfortunately, my time and bank account do not permit that. There are tons of other uses for a light as well, but for me I dont need one on a 1911.

I no longer carry a 1911. For me, this would only be a range toy. I currently do not own a 1911. Everytime I sell them all, something new comes out that I want to try. I keep the USP 45 tactical in the truck with a light on it. I prefer it due to the extra capacity, and I just shoot it better. Single stack XD45 for concealed carry. I will agree, that if Remington does release this with a light rail they will sell many more. These things may also be a complete failure. I posted hoping that someone had some range time with one. Mine should be here on Monday, and Ill get some rounds downrange next week.

I'm already cut for Novac sights. Just need some taller sights for when I'm running my Ti Rant.

We got our one in. It's a pretty slick gun for about a thousand bucks. The safety and controls are fit nicely, slide to frame are decent, the trigger isn't bad for a firing pin safety gun and it's got a nice paint job and decent stocks. Only firing will tell the rest, but out of the box it's appears to be a really good value.

Eww, they have Series 80 parts? Damn lawyers. Without them, no sane gunmaker would build a ground-up 1911 with that crap.
