My new Ruger 22/45 22LR with Burris FastFire II and Viridian C5 green laser sight. So far I love it, smooth shooting little pistol, plus its nice being able to put 1911 grips on it. Might put the Volquartsen trigger on it soon. Enjoy!

Dream pistol. Hate the way the laser looks but no big deal.

I love that thing! How does it cycle with the can on? As reliably as without the can?

Re: Got my new plinker put together today!

That's is a nice little pistol. Bet that thing is fun to shoot with.

Re: Got my new plinker put together today!

Nice outfit. Do a Sam Lam bushing. Best $10 you can spend on one of these pistols. Mine runs great with a Spectre.

Is it really that good? I guess for $10 it couldn't hurt to try it.

Re: Got my new plinker put together today!

any will work, with a little trimming

i'd skip the sam bushing and put that money towards the volquartsen kit.....it's worth the money, for sure....and the kit has everything in it that'd the sam bushing would do, plus a MUCH MUCH MUCH better trigger

The Pachmayr grips I have on mine only had to be trimmed by the mag release button, but that's only because its a wrap around style grip. I put a few only 1911 grips on it and they seemed to fit fine. Some may need to be trimmed at the top edge by the slide release button.

Yeah I think the Volquartsen trigger will be next. I've seen some guys put the Mark II trigger in the Mark III models. Whats the difference in doing that?

Re: Got my new plinker put together today!

If you get the MKIII Accurizing kit you will need a bushing like Sam's to remove the mag safety. Mags will then just drop out. You can save some money by using your stock hammer and just buying the Volquartsen sear and any trigger of your choice, without buying the the whole kit. The Sam Lam bushing will tighten up the trigger group mating parts as the bushing has a slightly larger diameter that intersects with the disconnector arm "window". This group fit will improve your trigger slightly by eliminating a small amount of take-up in the trigger pull.

Re: Got my new plinker put together today!

looks great, that exact setup is on my short list of things to buy. for now this one does it for me, its killed many whistle pigs. don't have the volquartsen trigger yet, i like the stock one so im not sure ill change it. markIII upper mark II lower.
