Rifle Scopes Falcon Menace 4-14x44 Tactical 30mm Riflescope

Re: Falcon Menace 4-14x44 Tactical 30mm Riflescope

You can certainly do a lot worse than a Falcon as a starter scope, glass is reasonable, good features, built solidly and I've found them all to track pretty well all the way through the range of adjustment. Turrets are a bit mushy but they do the job, robust warranty too if anything should go wrong. The 10x42 version is pretty good also.

Lots of reviews if you use the search function (both good and bad) but as I say I think for the money you can do a lot worse and it should work fine for what you want.

I have one on a AR. It has been a good scope.

Re: Falcon Menace 4-14x44 Tactical 30mm Riflescope

I have a couple and great starter scopes. Heavy as hell, but solid. For the price they are awesome.

Re: Falcon Menace 4-14x44 Tactical 30mm Riflescope

Thanks for the input. As I said, it will probably end up on a
CZ 455 I want to purchase, so I will order one and shoot it for a while.

Re: Falcon Menace 4-14x44 Tactical 30mm Riflescope

Thanks for the link nhm16, it will initially go on a 700 AAC/SD 308 build and I will eventually put it on a 22 unless the scope turns out to be a "dandy".

Re: Falcon Menace 4-14x44 Tactical 30mm Riflescope

I have a gen 2 , and has been a fantastic scope at the price point . Over 4500 rounds without a hick-up , and served me well for two years till I was able to afford a nicer optic . Now it resides on a rimfire trainer . Very repeatable , and I don't know if I just got a good one , but the glass on mine is very very nice . I do believe the Wotac and the BSA are made at the same Chicom factory as these Falcons , but comparing it to a Wotac the Falcon was far superior in resolution and clarity . I would imagine the tubes , controls are the same , just built to who-evers specs as far as optical coatings and internals IMHO

Re: Falcon Menace 4-14x44 Tactical 30mm Riflescope

Some people have had good luck with Falcons and Wotacs and some have not. I've seen them break and heard warranty horror stories just as people have told me how great they are. I really think that you're taking a gamble if you buy one.

Personally I'd get a fixed 10X super sniper with the new reticule and mil-click knobs. Made in Japan and I think SWFA and Bushnell jointly handle warranty claims. I've had a couple of the older mildot ones I beat the shit out of them and still sold them for 250 (orig price 300). The optical quality is nothing to scream about, kinda like a bushnell 3200 maybe a little better but it's good enough for longer range shots/seeing your spotter on target and with the MP8 reticule and mil knobs I don't see you going wrong with it.

how many mils per turn?

Re: Falcon Menace 4-14x44 Tactical 30mm Riflescope

I've had one for a few years now and it currently resides on my 22 trainer which gets a lot of use.

Mine has been a solid scope and I get the feeling I got away with something for the price I paid.

Re: Falcon Menace 4-14x44 Tactical 30mm Riflescope

I have one that I use as a loner scope. It is mounted on a Larue QD mount. It has been very reliable, tracks nice, good target turrets for the price. It gets thrown on many different guns and I have had zero issues with it so far. Hard to beat for the price.
