My transferable m16a1 cleared last Friday, and I finally got to shoot my "compact car priced investment" on Sunday. This was the first time I have ever shot a full auto, and I was impressed with how controllable it was. Within a few mags I got the hang of it to the point where I could easily keep 3-5 shot bursts on a chest sized plate (10"x12") at 30 yards. I found that with my Surefire MINI mounted the gun would controllable walk up the plate. With the can off, the gun would slowly walk DOWN the plate, meaning that the brake is actually overly effective, at least with 5.56 pressure ammo out of a 10.5" barrel. The gun did not have a hickup of any sort in the 210 rounds I put through it, which certainly is promising!

Not sure what a "hickup" is (is that where your gun gets carried by Honey boo Boo or something?)

But that's a pretty nifty setup you have going there. I cannot imagine the repercussions were I to invest in something similar.

Actually, I can imagine it. It would be divorce papers.

Lol, "without a hickup" means that it operated flawlessly with zero malfunctions.

My wife was pretty cool with it. After the initial "fucking how much?" she trusted my judgement and didn't bitch a bit.

Sounds like your wife took it better than mine would. Mine isn't thrilled that I need another safe even though it kind of is for work. Good looking setup.

"compact car priced investment" haha.... Funny thing is your rifle will hold its value much better then a compact car. Nice piece of kit.

One more for effect:

I'll volunteer some of my time to run that system until I can get that "hiccup" out of it. It migght take me a couple months , just to make sure!! I mean what else are brothers for???

Id hope its effective, its freakin massive! Did you use the .308 version by accident.

Just gonna throw my .02 in here. I was with BM when he shot it and he was good enough to let me run a few mags threw it. I have had a bit of experience shooting full auto M4s and similar rifles with out a brake. All that I have shot before just had flash hiders. I was very impressed with how there was NO muzzle rise at all! The 10" barrel and brake was a bit loud I do have to admit, but with the can on it was very pleasent. I also was as impressed with the fired brass, it was almost like new! Noveske nailed the timing on this upper and the switch block was perfect as well. I do have to say when BM told me we were going to shoot it I was expecting to possiably have some kind of feeding or cycling issue, but the damn thing ran like a Swiss watch!

Re: Surefire brakes are EFFECTIVE!!! (full auto)

I think you'll find after shooting the FA stuff for a little while you'll become quite proficient at controlling it, brake or no brake.

I've owned full auto NFA items since later 90's and I'm still impressed how you can get in a rhythm and keep burst nice and tight. With that said the exception is shoulder fired 308s, I suppose I'm just not man enough to keep those things from kicking my arse.

Good looking setup you got there!

I'd love to see some pics of the brass shot when the suppressor was on and the switch block was set for suppressed shooting. My brass (under the same conditions) comes out a very nasty grey / brown.

Good luck

</div></div>Yeah, Jesse was referring to the lack of extractor evidence, not the cleanliness. Even a piston gun with a suppressor setting still makes the brass filthy.
