******Warning: DO NOT call Lisa (Rifles Only) or Tony (TAB Gear) to order these just yet******

Introducing the TAB Gear 7.62 Modular Magazine Pouch.
This will be a great solution for shooters that run a variety of rifle platforms that require different magazines.

First impressions:
• As with everything TAB Gear makes, the pouch is very well constructed.
• The mouth of the pouch has been re-enforced so the end-user can insert a mag into the pouch with ease. It does not collapse like a lot of the other pouches I have used in the past.
• The internal shelf allows the user to adjust for multiple types, designs, and sizes of magazine with ease.
• Shock cord retention is my personal favorite as I am not a fan of Velcro flaps. I know some say that shock cord retention is not secure enough, but I have yet to have a mag flop out when the shock cord in place. You can also adjust the length on the shock cord according to length of the magazine. If someone hits the deck hard enough to dislodge a magazine, he or she may have bigger issues at that point. 
• Finally a single pouch that I do not have to rig to carry multiple sizes and types of magazines. I have having to re-arrange my belt or pack to accommodate more or less ammo or for various type of magazines
• USA MADE!!! Like with everything TAB Gear produces, we know it’s made in the good ole US.

I have fitted the magazine pouch with the following magazines:
• AICS 10rd mag
• ACIS 5rd mag
• AICS 10rd 223 mag
• Alpha WSM mag
• 10rd AR10 mag
• 10/20rd AR10 mag

I did not have an AW magazine handy, but Tony said it would fit those as well.

The pouch pictured is not the final product. After some feedback, Tony said he was going to make a few changes to the final production model.

On this version yes, but Tony may go to another option, but it is molle/pals compatible.

Re: TAB Gear Modular 7.62 Mag Pouch **quick look**

Looking forward to it: Tony does good work and his designs are well thought-out.

+1 on that!! I'll be awaiting more info on these in the near future, but so far, looks like a damn good design. I'm sure that any refinements will only make them even more appealing.

Thanks for the heads up!

Re: TAB Gear Modular 7.62 Mag Pouch **quick look**

looks sweet! Any option for same design to hold 10 round 300WM AICS? or even 5 rounders?

Re: TAB Gear Modular 7.62 Mag Pouch **quick look**

Right now we're working on getting inventory built up and delivered to Rifles Only, so PLEASE don't begin calling to place orders until the green light is given.

After talking with Vu, and evaluating the time it takes for us to manufacture the two MOLLE/PALS straps on the back of each pouch we've decided to remove those from the process and to include two MALICE Clips with each pouch we sell.

They're much more economical than making the straps we were making, they're stronger, and they're an accepted industry standard in attaching gear to gear.

The two magazines you see in these pictures are an AIAW 10 round double stack mag, and a TRG22 308 magazine. What we're calling the "short shelf" is the webbing you see that raises the bottom of the pouch to enable the shorter magazines to be used. There is loop velcro on the inside and outside of the pouch that the short shelf attaches to. You can see a good picture of the short shelf in Vu's first picture. This makes it virtually impossible under any conditions I've used them, to collapse the short shelf. There's no more having to put foam in the bottom of the mag pouch so you can run the short 5 round and double stack 10 round mags.

When I use a 20 round magazine or a 10 round AICS magazine I have the short shelf completely detached from the upper loop velcro. I have the short shelf all the way at the bottom of the pouch where there is another section of loop velcro on the inside to keep the shelf from flopping around and getting in the way of the mag being removed or reinserted.

over watch and jroberts, we definitely have plans on making a similar pouch that will work on the long action rounds too. It will only involve resizing the existing pattern.

Also, Vu forgot to mention that we've also constructed these pouches so they can also be installed on a belt by simply sliding your belt behind the PALS webbing. The pouch will then be tight to the body with very little flopping around like some pouches when you have to use the MALICE Clips as the belt loop.

These look great and I'm sure they will be right at home along side the rest of my TAB gear.

Re: TAB Gear Modular 7.62 Mag Pouch **quick look**

I have been using two prototype TAB Modular 7.62 Mag Pouches for the past two weeks. The construction is like all things TAB, bomb proof. The design and function are as stated in the above posts. For the past 8 years I have been using Tactical Tailor 7.62 mag pouches at work and in competition. My biggest beef with the Tactical Tailor pouch is that AICS mags fit sloppy unless you place a riser in the bottom of the pouch to raise the AICS mag up. I also found that my P-Mag 762 magazines fit really tight in the Tactical Tailor pouches I own. Though I believe the Tactical Tailor 762 pouch was original meant for M1A/M14 mags so I can't blame them for not working how I wanted them to.

Back to TAB 762 pouches... At work (SWAT) I find myself utilizing a bolt gun with AICS mags or a LMT 762 with P-Mags. When I compete I use AICS mags or AW/300 mags both 5 and 10 rounders. When I teach I may use any of the above to include SCAR-17 or an M1A/M14 depending on the student base. The last thing I want to worry about it is owning 3 or 4 different pouches and constantly bouncing them around as needed. The TAB 762 pouch allows me to use a 762 pouch for everything to INCLUDE MY AW/300 Mags!

Here is a side by side with the TT 762 pouch on the right and the TAB 762 pouch on the left. A AICS mag is in the pouch.

Here is a AW300 mag (10rd) in the TAB pouch. It won't fit in the TT pouch. I noted the AW300 mag was snug in the TAB pouch but I don't think it is an issue other than it will be difficult to put two pouches asshole to elbow right next to each other. You will need to leave one row of MOLLE open between the pouch but I have found this to be true for all my long action mags regardless of pouch.
IMG_2047.jpg

In the end I think this is an awesome pouch and a must have for anyone with a 762 mag regardless of 5 or 10 rounder. I did try to shove my TRG42/338 mag in the pouch and it would not fit in the normal way but I did find that placing bullet tip end or forward face of the mag down it would fit in the pouch. For someone who doesn't want to strip pouches off all the time just because they are using a different weapon system I think this is perfectly acceptable. Though knowing the folks at TAB Gear I don't expect them to say it is acceptable to fit a LA mag in a 762 pouch. I expect them to build a LA mag pouch because it will be too difficult to say this LA mag will still fit without compromising the perfect fit the already accomplished with the 762 mags in the TAB 762 pouch.

Re: TAB Gear Modular 7.62 Mag Pouch **quick look**

Can you throw up a pic with the M14 mag in these? They look really great. Also, any idea of a ballpark on price? If they fit the M14, hopefully FAL mags would drop in as well...

Re: TAB Gear Modular 7.62 Mag Pouch **quick look**

Sure HeroFish, I'll get you a picture later today. They fit with no problem.

Re: TAB Gear Modular 7.62 Mag Pouch **quick look**

Photobucket is having problems and I can't upload any pictures from any of my cameras or iphone tonight. I'll try again tomorrow for the M14 picture.

Re: TAB Gear Modular 7.62 Mag Pouch **quick look**

Dam just when you think your done buying gear...

Re: TAB Gear Modular 7.62 Mag Pouch **quick look**

Will these work with the new AX double stack 338 Lapua magazines, and if not do you intend on making a slightly larger one? Thanks

Re: TAB Gear Modular 7.62 Mag Pouch **quick look**

Good morning LarryA, I already have 338 mags on the way to me so I can resize the pouch to fit the long action cartridges.

Re: TAB Gear Modular 7.62 Mag Pouch **quick look**

Here's the picture of an M14 mag in the pouch.

Re: TAB Gear Modular 7.62 Mag Pouch **quick look**

I have been running two of the updated version pouches with the malice clips, they are awesome and tony did a great job with these. The adjustability is pretty cool. I will be buying two more for my wife when they are available.....

Re: TAB Gear Modular 7.62 Mag Pouch **quick look**

Looks like I'm buying some more TAB Gear. Love your stuff Tony!

Re: TAB Gear Modular 7.62 Mag Pouch **quick look**
