I looked at both the Sparrow and just cant have a frp. I live in the city limits but have a critter problem (skunks, rabbits, and snakes mainly). Anyone have experience with the Spectre II or TBAC they want to share????

I have an AAC pilot. I shoot wolf match target out of it. It sounds like a bb gun first or 100th round.

Pretty much have to have your BS meter running for sure. There is some useful information, just have to remember to take everything with a grain of salt.

Ok.....before I commit to an Element 2 serial number, how many aac owners would buy something else if you could do it over..
And how many of you TBAC owners would also buy something else..

I have a Gemtech Outback II, a Silencerco Sparrow, and an Element. All great cans, but if I had to choose one, I would go with the Sparrow. To me, 1-4 db's attenuation difference in 'tests' is meaningless, so it comes down to the maintainability of the can.
Gemtech Outback is not user-serviceable, unless you want to dunk it repeatedly into a cleaning solvent, or pay to have it re-cored. OR, you could look at the Gemtech Alpine.
AAC Element is nice, but I have had some issues getting the cores separated after a few hundred rounds with no cleaning(I shoot a lot of full-auto 22, so it adds up very quickly). 17HMR, 22MAG also manageable.
The Sparrow has the outer shell (w/ SN#), and inner shell that separates into two pieces, and the ONE PIECE BAFFLE core. I have never had an issue getting it apart, no matter how many rounds. ALSO, you can use it on multiple calibers...17HMR, 22MAG/WMR, and 5.7x28!
I would highly suggest the Silencerco Sparrow.
Whatever can you decide, be very careful and ensure you are getting the newest version available. Both AAC Element and Sparrow have had inline changes, and the differences are big. It would suck to realize 8 months from now that you got the old version.

i have the AAC Prodigy, Pilot, and a SilencerCo SS Sparrow, and i've shot my buddy's Element on numerous occasions. with the Element 2 having a Titanium tube now, and being DIP safe, i say it's a great can.
All those cans, honestly sound the same. outdoors, i can hardly tell the difference if we're all using the same ammo. use CCI Standard Velocity.
the differences between cans is going to be it's ability to clean it. the Element can be a b*tch to take apart if you shoot a lot without cleaning, but the SS Sparrow can be too, even with the clam shells. there will be fouling that can get past the clam shells in the Sparrow. get the baffle pusher tool w/ the Element, my buddy had to get it for his to get the baffles out. for my sparrow, i beat it out w/ a 1" dia. oak dowel. for the prodigy, i had to but the tools and finally got it apart. the Pilot that i have is not able to be taken apart. that said, take apart cans that can be take-down OFTEN. this will make it a lot easier to clean. clean them often b/c removing built up lead is a b*tch. the DIP sucks, but if you're going to abuse cans with hundreds upon hundreds of rounds w/o cleaning, you've got two options, the DIP or soda blasting and i don't have the equipment to soda blast.
i say get SS or Titanium 22lr cans, but if you clean your Aluminum can, like a Prodigy often, there's nothing wrong with it. i think you'll be extremely happy with an Element 2. it's a great balance of size, weight, and performance.

Plenty of people have, if you read the silencer-specific websites. No one has metered one to my knowledge, but no reason to suspect it would be much different than the Element 1, which is an outstanding silencer.
