Just wanted to share my experience here with Aaron Roberts at Roberts Precision Rifles, and what a good one it was. This was my first ever custom rifle build, and on top of that I am new to the bolt action/precision shooting world. With that being said, I went to RPR with lots of questions and basically a clean slate as to what I wanted/needed. Aaron was great about not only answering my questions, but going into full detail and explaining what it did and why/why not I needed to go that route.

So I guess what I am trying to say is he listens to you, offers plenty of explanations and reasoning behind everything and will help you make your decision. For me personally that is exactly what I wanted. I was worried I would go into a custom shop and have somebody tell me what I needed and not listen or let me make the decisions or even worse sell me on something I did not like or want. All in all I could not be happier!

With that all being said on to the eye candy and specs!

Very nice setup and sweet shooter. Congratulations, my first one will hopefully be done pretty soon and is similar to yours.

Great looking rifle. I also have a T4a and I am now starting another build on the T2a. I like the slanted but vs the hook, as well.

Nice...cannot go wrong having both!

Re: My 6.5 Creedmoor build

Now that you have one of Aaron's rifles, you now need to take his long range class and work that rifle.
I have one of his rifles in 308 and it is awesome! My friends now own their own RPR rifle, cause they were jealous!
You will really like Aaron's long range class. He's a great teacher and will really help with the long range shooting.

Re: My 6.5 Creedmoor build

Just got back with a range report from testing both 120gr Amax and 140gr Amax. This is factory Hornady ammo.

This particular rifle seems to like the 140 MUCH more. This was my personal best 4 shot group I have ever shot soo far!

However it did not like the 120's very much. I could not them to group much better than this. Granted there might have been a flier in there somewhere...

.232 groups??? I'd buy 1k of Hornady factory 140's and er a day! Sweet looking rifle!

Re: My 6.5 Creedmoor build

Great rifle you got there! Aaron is beginning to build my .308 this week. Now, I'm really getting pumped!

I second the recommendation on taking Aaron's long range rifle class. The helpfulness you experienced at his shop, is what you will get in class.

Re: My 6.5 Creedmoor build

I have taken the long range class out to 500 and I am ready to do the next one out to 1000.
The weather is right and I need some long range trigger time!!

Re: My 6.5 Creedmoor build

Very Nice! Thanks for posting! I'm waiting for my Brux barrel to get threaded, chambered, and crowned for my Stiller action. Six weeks and waiting.
