Just trying to find out as much about this rifle as I can.
Am hoping that members using this model will chime in.
Or any member for the matter this being Snipers Hide.
Does it have have the full length aluminum block or just
pillar blocks? I've read on here that the TSR XP 308 does have
the full length aluminum block. So, why shouldn't the 300WSM?
Maybe all the TSR XP have aluminum
pillar blocks?
At any rate, it's been a crazy week. I passed on a new TSR XP
from a fellow member -only to instantly regret that decision
however fate smiled upon this poor hillbilly as I found another
brand new one in Texas for $959.72 to my FFL. I reckon I will
put another Vortex PST Viper 6-24x50 FFP on her as I have
one on my Savage FCP SR. I'm thinking it will be what I need
to get to 1,500 yds. But I will be shooting 1,000 yds 90% of the
time I'm thinking.

Re: FN TSR XP 300WSM

Paul,

The TSR-XP line all have the Hogue Overmolded stock. It has a full aluminum bedding block around the receiver. It extends forward into the forearm.

The magazine in the .300 WSM will be a hinged floorplate design that holds three rounds. FNH does not currently offer an upgrade kit for hinged floorplate rifles. CDI Precision does, I believe. Many Hide Member have had very good experiences with Jeff at CDI. I have no direct experience with his upgrades, so I won't comment on them beyond that.

I will caution that the CDI upgrade will void the FNH warranty (modifications to the receiver and stock). Before proceeding with the CDI conversion, please shoot the rifle in its original factory configuration to ensure you are completely satisfied with it. That way, if there are any issues with it, you can engage FNH Customer Service with the full warranty in effect.

Hope this helps in your decision.

Re: FN TSR XP 300WSM

Wow. Thx a bushel actionguy. I reckon I will mighty pleased with her in stock form. I've heard so many good things about FNH, from the butter smooth action to the dead nuts accuracy. I cant wait to shoot her. I really do imagine that I will be more than pleased with her in pure stock form. My friend is currently working me up some 190gr loads using Berger bullets and Winny brass.
It will be cool to see how she stacks up to my Savage FCP SR @ 100 yds and beyond. Again, thx for the 411 thats exactly what I needed to know.

Therefore, peeps are switching out stock too?
I don't doubt ya one bit, it's just I will not buy
another stock just to switch out the bottom metal
Ill make do.....

Re: FN TSR XP 300WSM

Well men, my FN TSR XP 300WSM will have a
Vortex PST Viper 6-24x50 FFP 1/4 MOA
What y'all reckon is the furthest I can reach out to?
I'll have 190 Bergers in Winny brass. Thx
