Just had my first experience shooting my newly bought AAC blackout upper with my 308 can from shark on it. What a great round, upper and the sound of the. 220 is like a .22. All I can say is go shoot a suppressed with subs and you might buy 2.
How long was the barrel you have? What ammo were you using? I have had trouble with my 16" barrel keeping things subsonic. Wondering what other people are using that stays subsonic.
Im Running a Seekins lower with a AAC 9' Upper and a shark 308 Can. Damn it sounds like a .22 and is so light. Im using 220 only and dont know if I will ever go with the lighter rounds because every time I shoot the 220 I smile.I did a mag dump the other day and must say its a must
This is going to be the first hunting season where a significant amount of people have guns and ammunition - so a lot more people will be talking about it in the next few months.
There's just something about that stoopid grin you get when you shoot your next sub/suppressor combo and it's everything you wanted. Kinda like a Puppy that just found a second peter!
I have the same issue when using factory SS ammo. You have to handload it for your rifle and you'll come up with a load that works. I'll dig up the load I use and send you a PM. I have a 16" CMMG upper w/pistol length gas tube with a Gemtech can. My preferance would be an 8" barrel though.
I've only run the Remington Sub 220gr in mine and everything is subsonic so for, but again I have an 8" barrel. I plan on doing some reloads, but haven't been able to find brass, with the exeption of the Hornady brass. I am not paying twice what the Remington/ACC brass cost for it though. Until I can find the Remington/ACC brass in stock I'll just keep buying loaded ammo and saving my used cases.
nice--have 300BO on the short list for next build---anybody posted some accuracy reports with diff barrel mfr's? only interested in suppressed with heavy bullets---so glad it is a SAAMI round now
Its going to be my deer gun this year so we will see how it kills. Going to be only using the 220 grain sub with suppressor. Im going to yaw a dear from side to side lol.
I shot a 3-gun match with my 9 inch AAC upper, SDN-6 and 220 subs. Nothing was farther than 100 yards in that match, so it didn't hurt me too badly. It was sure fun, and I am loading up tons more 208 AMAXs for the next shoot!
