I have a new CZ 455 Varmint in .22 LR topped with a Sightron SIII scope on an EGW 0 MOA base. I went with the 0 MOA base, vs the 20 MOA because this gun will be used inside 100 yards 99% of the time. Anyway, I decided to see how the CCI "Quiet" .22 ammo I was using would do at 100 yards. The bullet drop on this round is massive at this range as I used every bit of the advertised 70 moa elevation this scope has to get on center. My question is is using a scope that is maxed out in elevation and/or windage detrimental to the scope in any way? I was thinking it might not be good for the reticle adjustment mechanism, springs and what not. Once I was done shooting for the day I optically centered the reticle again as I'll be trying a different load next time. What do you guys think?
