Hey guys got a question for ya. Does anyone here have a ghillie that's just almost the jacket more so the upper back tops of shoulder and head? I use the term recon ghillie because thats all I could think of. I want something lightweight that I can still move in but will provide more camouflage than a sniper veil or just bdu's. I will probably be making this my self and using it for coyote hunting/hunting in general.

Re: Recon Ghillie/Ghillie help

Check out Tactical Concealment's Cobra and Viper hoods, sounds exactly like what you describe.

Re: Recon Ghillie/Ghillie help

Use an old jacket/smock with hood. Remove everything except the sleeve from the elbow up and the back up until your shoulder blades and to the same height on the front. Add netting by spot sewing or shoe glue.

Thats if you dont want to buy the Tactical Concealment gear, which is great stuff.

Re: Recon Ghillie/Ghillie help

I bought a voodoo tactical sniper tog and added the un-woven burlap from 3 bags. I use it quite a bit for coyote hunting, and generally messing around... it sure beats a 20 lbs ghillie suit in the summer.

There are some pics of one in this thread.

Nice face cover...

Does anyone actually use their ghillie besides taking pictures they think look cool in? Might as well have been an airsoft rifle in your hands. Maybe give us all a class on how to make a ghillie then stop half way through. looks like you are covered in wet spaghetti.
