Made it out Saturday to fill my antelope tag. The kids settled on this average for the area buck. I was nice enough to let him crawl off his doe before I put him down. Took him right at 400 yards with a 105 Amax. Was a great day spent with the family.

Re: Another WY antelope

Nice speed goat! When I lived in Laramie I saw shit tons of them. I hope to make it back there to finally be able to hunt some. You on private or public grounds?

Re: Another WY antelope

This buck was taken on BLM. I haven't hunted private ground in quite awhile. There's tons of antelope out here and its always an easy hunt for the kids.

Great work buddy,
glad to see you out getting some hunting in, did Dixon build you that stick?

Re: Another WY antelope

Nice job Jamie! That first picture is priceless.

Won't be long and those two will be pulling the trigger.

See you in about 10 days......

That one is a Nate Dagley built 6x47 Lapua and just might be my most accurate rifle. It has all the good parts in it....grin

Coolers and ice do the trick. Not much different than caring for deer, but one shouldn't waste too to much time getting them on ice.

Congrats on your hunt, looks like you'll be needing some freezer space??

I just got back from Wyoming chasing goats with the bow. Thanks for the encouraging rut report by the way Cinch... I killed mine Saturday morning. Deboned it right out in the field and hauled all my gear and goat back to the road. I had to keep it in the shade for a while until my ride showed up. It was upper 60s/low 70s (not too hot) and probably 4-5 hours before I got the meat back to camp and on ice.

I sampled the backstrap last night (first time eating antelope) and it was AWESOME!!! Quite a bit better than venison IMO. I just seasoned and grilled it up like I would any good piece of beef or venison. I will keep the straps for steaks, and turn the rest into muscle jerky and burger patties.
