Re: 2012 FPR Match Season at Palo Alto- LA

Jimbo puts up some great scores. I've got my work cut out for me. Would be interested in what scores other ranges were getting in their FPR matches.

You BOTH put up very impressive scores!

Come to think of it, I have not seen scores from other FPR matches.
Gonna have to research that.

Our monthly F T/R match scores have been up there too.

Re: 2012 FPR Match Season at Palo Alto- LA

Yea there is a lot of good shooting happening at Palo. It's anybody's game...bunch of shooters capable of putting up some good scores.

Mick, Brian text me today and said that he can't get off work. He said that he is putting down for a day off for the Sept. match date. He should be a millionaire by that time with all the hours that he is putting in...LOL

I plan to get there to help you get set-up. See ya Saturday.

Re: 2012 FPR Match Season at Palo Alto- LA

Our next 600y FPR match is Saturday 9/8 at Palo Alto.
Registration is from 0715 to 0800, with first rounds down range at 0830.

Re: 2012 FPR Match Season at Palo Alto- LA

After meeting Joe Mistretta at the range this morning to assess the extent of flooding, the FPR match scheduled for this coming Saturday will be canceled. A work day will be held in place of the match on Saturday. We will get started at 0800. Top of the "to do list" is going to be rebacking the target frames with cardboard and refacing/marking the targets. Our State match 2 day match is the first weekend in October and it is going to take some help to get everything in order for it.
If you plan on attending, please bring a claw hammer and/or a pry bar to remove nails from the target frames and anything else you think will come in handy.

Re: 2012 FPR Match Season at Palo Alto- LA

Bump for a reminder.
The FPR match this Saturday has been canceled.
We will be working on repairing targets that got wet during the recent storm.

Re: 2012 FPR Match Season at Palo Alto- LA

Just wanted to let everyone know we will not be ending the season next month as originally planned. Due to interest we will begin holding the matches year 'round. Not just March through September as was planned this year. So keep coming out and shooting and we'll keep putting them on.

Re: 2012 FPR Match Season at Palo Alto- LA

What a perfect day to be at the range. 14 shooters showed to face the challenging winds this morning at Palo Alto, a few of which being new shooters. They picked up quick and looked like seasoned veterans by the end of the match working those targets.

In the "no rear bag" class, Jay Meynier took 1st place scoring a 572-15X shooting a sling. Great shooting Jay! Joe Arabie came in 2nd with a 527-6X.

In the "rear bag" class, Ritten Precision Rifles dominated the line with the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishes. Ted Torres, with a High Master score, takes 1st place shooting a 588-20X. Mickey Brinkman comes in for a 2nd place finish shooting a 582-17X.

Four of our shooters today showed to shoot the match as a practice match with F Open rifles and single loading for F T/R. Glad you all got to make it out to shoot with us.

Thanks to everyone for a safe match, and hope to see you all at the FPR match next month on November 10th.

Re: 2012 FPR Match Season at Palo Alto- LA

Mickey, I'm headed to K & M Precision to learn how to shoot. Hope to see you all at the next match.

Re: 2012 FPR Match Season at Palo Alto- LA

Hey ashland,

Are you gonna make the FPR match this Saturday? If so I'm hoping you still have a blister on your trigger finger from all that shooting at K&M. LOL

Re: 2012 FPR Match Season at Palo Alto- LA

Jimbo, once again you put up a great score. Glad I went to K & M instead. I'm hoping to make the Dec. match. Maybe we should make you shoot weak side to give the others a chance.

Re: 2012 FPR Match Season at Palo Alto- LA

I will be going back down to K&M Dec. 8th instead of shooting FPR at Palo. Hope to make it back to Palo in Jan. Gonna have to tighten up Mickey is getting serious with that 308

In the meantime, I need to hear some steel ring!

Re: 2012 FPR Match Season at Palo Alto- LA

I may have a chance to win now! Understand about the steel. Shooting those COFs is addictive. I'm hooked. Must practice building my position.

Have fun down there.

Re: 2012 FPR Match Season at Palo Alto- LA

I'm going to try and come out this saturday for this. I live right next door in Assumption parish. I don't know if I'll just watch or try and shoot it. Rem 700 .308 or AR w/24" barrel. Both are duty rifles for me.

Re: 2012 FPR Match Season at Palo Alto- LA

Just saw that! Look forward to this year. It will be my first time out as last year I could never get out of work or family commitments to make it. But this year that changes.
