I was thinking the Army Mil spec, C154 as well. Ended up going with the MD 2 instead. If you wanted to go FFP, do lots of ranging, etc. The MD2.0 is an excellent reticle with half mil hashes, hollow mil-dots, etc. The C154s (Army-Specs) are pretty cool novelty items, but if you are wanting true use of the reticle the MD 2 offers much more. If you don't mind a SFP, the MLR is a very nice option.

For FFP plane, go with the MLR 2.0. For the SFP, the MOAR is hard to beat.

T-129 for what you want the scope for, ranging some targets, and open hunting take a good look at the NXS 5.5-22x50 with either the NP-1RR or NP-R1 reticle, I have no experience with the new MOAR reticle although it does seem to be another winner. With regards to FFP, its not for everyone if you have an opportunity to use a FFP scope before buying one I would take advantage of it. Not takin anything away from the mil-dot the new MD2 and MLR2 are both better choce if you opt to got with and F1. I have both a NXS with mil-dot and one with the NP-R1 and they do get the job done.

Thank you for all the info. I have used a FFP before and will go with that. I do prefer MIL and looked more at the MD2 and like that more than the standard Mildot on the Army Spec. Plus I need another set of rings. I will finally be a NF owener this week.....

I had the 22X SFP NXS and sold it to get the F1 with the MLR2 reticle and couldn't be happier.

I have both. I have an Army spec in MLR and an NXS 5.5-22x. When I'm target shooting at the range, I rarely use either scope on anything but maximum power. Unless you were planning on shooting in competition, you wouldn't NEED to have an F1. I don't NEED an F1, but it's nice to have the capability. I believe the warranty is better on the non mil-spec versions as well. You won't be disappointed with any NF you choose.
