I looked through the past posts on this trigger and quite a few people mentioned the adjustment screw protrudes from the trigger.
My trigger pull weight is just fine, and overall I am happy with this trigger, but with the angle of the pistol grip, the screw pokes me in the finger.

What has been the solution to this? (One post mentions grinding it down, but there wasn't any followup to the results.)

i tried removing it all together... work'd for me, then shortly threw it in the trash and installed a shilen.

I have removed it before, but there is a small spring that remains in the mechanism. You will have a reduced pull weight, but it will be inconsistent. Sometimes 2.25 lbs sometimes 2.5 etc. The Timney is an easy upgrade and is currently on sale http://www.midwayusa.com/product/220642/...-2-to-4-lb-blue

One that I have thought to try is the Ernie spring kit, which is a lighter weight spring for the xmark, and is only $7. The only thing is you have to adjust your trigger, and that is best left to a gunsmith. Here is the link anyway.

I have used his pillars but not the spring kit.

The Timney the easiest and should come adjusted to 3 or so lbs.
