Re: 2012 NorCal TBRC SureFire Invitational 9/29 - 9/30

I have had a lot of questions on positional shooting.

Instead of trying to explain things, we'll go with pictures.

Off hand: Sling support only..

Sitting:

Even this will work...
DSC_0125.jpg

So-Cal sitting.....not allowed in NorCal. We don't do yoga...
DSC_0114.jpg

The famous Regina demostrating the classic kneeling position.
DSC_0194.jpg

Unsupported prone, not hawkins.....
IMG_4661.jpg

Lil rear bags can be used under your legs or arms...but not a pack. Good example is like in the kneeling pic of Regina.

If we wanted you low like prone, we would just tell you to drop prone for the stage.

Shooting jackets: Once it goes on, it stays on the rest of the comp during ALL stages, both days. No leather hard backs.

Re: 2012 NorCal TBRC SureFire Invitational 9/29 - 9/30

Along with the ridiculous prize table we already have, we have stage sponsors and give aways throughout the event.

1. SureFire is our Steel Range Evolution sponsor and will be giving the highest scoring shooter in this evolution a Mag60 Cert, Rapid Transition Sights, and Muzzle Brake.

2. Our Premium Optic sponsor, Nightforce, will be giving the highest placing competitor running a Nightforce Optic 250.00 cash.

3. CompRifle is sponsoring $250.00 cash for the Fastest Shooter Stage, and another $250.00 cash for the highest score on our Short Range Evolution.

4. Short Action Precision is giving the competitor that wins our High Stakes Poker stage a 200.00 certificate in product.

5. Tactical Matches.com is our Cold Bore Stage sponsor. Competitor that hit closest to center on both days will win 250.00 cash.

6. Rifles Only is our Run & Gun stage sponsor. The best score with fastest time on this stage will win some nice goodies from Rifles Only.

Mike Cecil with CS Tactical will be giving away a free AR lower during Saturday’s BBQ.

Also, don’t forget to sport all your SureFire schwag to earn raffle tickets for a SureFire Fury and SureFire Minimus Headlamp!!!!

Re: 2012 NorCal TBRC SureFire Invitational 9/29 - 9/30

What if your optic goes down this weekend at TBRC?! No worries! Nightforce is sending two F1 MLR-2 3-15s for any competitor to use if he or she experiences an optic failure. Mike Cecil with CS Tactical will be onsite with rings and tools to mount one up ASAP if needed.

On behalf of www.AmericanSnipers.org I want to thank Vu for putting this raffle rife package together. It will be on display at the NorCal match. The tickets were only $1 each (edit $10 ea, typo) and this package is worth over $8,000. 100% of the proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to AmericanSnipers.org, since all the rifle components, certs, and build labor were generously donated.

Thank you Vu.

Re: 2012 NorCal TBRC SureFire Invitational 9/29 - 9/30

Incredible match! I had a great time. The prize table was plain crazy.

Re: 2012 NorCal TBRC SureFire Invitational 9/29 - 9/30

Many, many thanks to the entire NorCal crew! Outstanding job on the COF's, everything running smoothly, scores, and that friggin amazing prize table. Huge thank you to the sponsors who went way above and beyond this time.

I apologize for the AZ crew bringing the heat with us. We figured we should pay you back for the two times you folks brought rain and fog down to us. I was kind of enjoying the mirage up until that poker card stage.

Great shooting by all the competitors. That entire match was seriously stacked with some phenomenal shooters. I made a few new friends on Bravo squad. I might have even got Ken Lin over his fear of me. All three ladies were squadded together so we'd be shooting in the same conditions. May @ SureFire, girl... you ROCKED! Go enjoy your honeymoon now!

I managed to exceed my goal of cracking the top 20 so the guys had to listen to me brag for about 10 hrs of the 13 hr ride home. SureFire gave me a custom engraved Edge folding combat/utility knife for top female shooter. Tim was happy about that because it means I had to give him back the knife he loaned me when we were dating. I picked up a pair of Swarovski range finders and a cert from Rifles Only. I guess Michael got one too in the AmericanSnipers.org prize package so a few of us are talking about invading Kingsville now for a class. That prize table was crazy huge. I've never seen one that stellar at a match.

Thanks again to the entire staff who gave up their weekend so we could play on ours. I know how much work goes in to that so I hope you all had a chance to celebrate the closing of another TBRC victory.

Re: 2012 NorCal TBRC SureFire Invitational 9/29 - 9/30

We had a great time and it was definitely worth the trip to come shoot with everyone. Vu and the whole crew who helped out with the match were awesome. From the check in on Friday to the final prize leaving the prize table Sunday evening it was an impressive thing to see how organized you all are. I know you had a lot of people running behind the scenes that we didn't get to meet, so please thank them all for us.

The prize table was an amazing sight for sure. Vu, if you haven't already done it somewhere please list all of the sponsors so we can send thank you's to all of them.

Re: 2012 NorCal TBRC SureFire Invitational 9/29 - 9/30

Vu and crew did an amazing job of putting on an excellent , safe and challenging match. Everything ran smoothly from check in to awards. The amount of time and effort to put on a match of this size had to be incredible.
The COF was a hard mix of supported and unsupported long range and short range and run-n-gun.
The sponsors ( especially Surefire....May) all stepped up once again in a huge way. They all should be thanked and supported.
Thanks again to Vu and all RO's and crew.

Re: 2012 NorCal TBRC SureFire Invitational 9/29 - 9/30

Congrats to all winners. Vu top match

Re: 2012 NorCal TBRC SureFire Invitational 9/29 - 9/30

LH Gina didn’t crack the top 20. She kicked the damn door in on the top 20 and was knocking on the door for the top 10. I couldn’t ask to have been in a better group than bravo squad with May and Regina . I honestly think I am going to have to put down the gas guns and do this more. I was hot and tired but the people and atmosphere that was going on made the days fly by.

There Are comps just like this in the Southeast and the most notable one is the GAP Grind and it is coming up quick. It is being hosted by K&M training facility which is no doubt the premier training facility east of the MS River. I hope you can make it.

Re: 2012 NorCal TBRC SureFire Invitational 9/29 - 9/30

Great match Vu and every person that worked and helped to put on this match. To everyone that contributed to the American Snipers rifle build thank you so much for your time and dedication to this project, I plan on putting it to good use and wearing the barrel out after October. A range report will be posted:)

Re: 2012 NorCal TBRC SureFire Invitational 9/29 - 9/30

To all the sponsors a big THANK YOU! You guys, especially SF, really stepped up this year. This match definitely deserves the support you guys offer, as Norcal runs a top notch match.

For all the guys and gals who ran the match, THANK YOU for all your hard work and your weekend. You guys are truly the rock stars of the match as this would not have been possible without you. You people are amazing considering the heat you endured throughout the weekend.

To Vu and Sean, thanks again for your organization. You guys have one hell of a shooting club and run one of the best matches. The fact that you guys control the prize table so that there is not a mad dash to it after the first x number of places read is a testament to the quality of organization and fairness of the match. Keep up the great work.
