shooting mats at Midway 50% off

Re: shooting mats at Midway 50% off

Great mat for the price!
You'll make up the difference in the shipping cost.

Truer words have never been written! I gave up on Midway after I noticed that each time I added an "on sale" item to my cart, the shipping costs went up WAY more than they did for a comparably sized item that was not "on sale".

The mat is well worth the sale price and shipping cost.
For full price and shipping you could probably get a better mat.

Re: shooting mats at Midway 50% off

$14 and change for shipping, unless you want to send it on a coast-to-coast tour for 3 dollars less and get it sometime maybe next week.

The shipping is in line with shipping charges on other purchases (non-sale) I have made recently.

Not bad, unless you order a few other items at the same time and expect to pay a single shipping charge for everything.
You'll pay a shipping charge for the other items, and you'll pay a separate shipping charge of $14 and change for the mat.

Re: shooting mats at Midway 50% off

This is actually a normal price for it, they sell it this way quite often. That said, it is a good mat for the price. It could be a bit wider, and have a loop or two on the front with which to load the bipod, but I like mine.

Re: shooting mats at Midway 50% off

The larger mat is also "on sale". Does anyone have the bigger one? Looks like it would be better for me as I am 6'2"/220 and the one linked above seems a bit small.

Re: shooting mats at Midway 50% off

I have the bigger one and it is plenty big enough and has ample padding as well.

If your not packing it in, the larger one is the way to go.

Re: shooting mats at Midway 50% off

I've got two and they work plenty good for me. Rolls up nice and travels easy. I picked them up on sale and can't complain. I did also buy the Midway drag bag since it was on sale cheap and looked good. Don't get it. It's unbalanced when carrying a rifle in it and the zipper pulls come off. I'd say the Midway brand stuff is okay for things that don't necessarily matter (i.e. shooting mat, range bag) but not for stuff you'd use in the field.

Definitely have to agree with this.

The big mat is nice and plenty comfortable. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. The drag bags is a POS and I wish I would've spen that money on something else.

Shipping is what it is, that's a big box to be shipping. So no complaints there. I just try to make sure I have plenty in my cart to justify the shipping charge. They have a large selection and ship quickly.

Re: shooting mats at Midway 50% off

Midway mat was decent, never noticed the shipping charges, as usually when I buy from a store the order is large enough anyways.

Definitely like my mat, rolls up easy, but I usually find myself wandering off of it, wish it was a little wider.

I have their drag bag too (saw it mentioned above), it holds the rifle fine, but way too many straps, mostly useless pockets, floppy nose guard, and way off balance if you use the carry strap.

Re: shooting mats at Midway 50% off

Just don't leave them out in the sun.

One week in the back of the pickup and the straps turned to powder. Probably polypropylene, and the cheapest example of such I've ever seen. Black stuff is normally UV-resistant.

Other than that, well worth it.

Re: shooting mats at Midway 50% off

Fyi on shipping. I just placed an order and I got their larger mat. I was also ordering a gun case which is not on sale and the shipping is the same for both items($14) if I put them in my cart separately.

Re: shooting mats at Midway 50% off

$14 is on par for what I would expect to pay for shipping. I was planning on saving for a TAB mat, but I may pick this one up instead.

Re: shooting mats at Midway 50% off

i got mine a while back, there the best bang for the buck. cant go wrong
