Rifle Scopes S & B 3-20 Users...Real feedback wanted

Re: S & B 3-20 Users...Real feedback wanted

I can see light between the scope and the rail but not much LOL

Re: S & B 3-20 Users...Real feedback wanted

I'm going to be building another rifle and it will have the 3-20x S&B on it, I going with the P4F or the Klein.

I saw too little light with that setup, was worried if things heated and expanded even a little there'd by no clearance. I sold my 0.92" Seekins and went with the next height up.

Re: S & B 3-20 Users...Real feedback wanted

If stuff was expanding enough to close that gap I think I have some serious problems other than the scope and rifle LOL

Also I have some directions on using the new locking MTC knobs if anyone needs them. Just drop me a PM with an email and I will send them to you.

You must have more gap than I did - I'm not certain I could even see light between mine. I don't know why the difference between my setup than yours. I'm on a Surgeon action.

I have mounted 2 using .92" rings, and both cleared (Badger rail on 700 and NEAR rail on FN SPR) but barely. We are talking .0015" on one and .0035" on the other.

That's enough in the safe, but when the rifle recoils and everything flexes it's not.

The tight clearance is between the rings...between the turret housing and the rail. If your rifle is flexing there, you have way worse problems. The scope has been mounted on both rifles mentioned and shot numerous times without issue.

Update: I bit the bullet and purchased one from another member here and absolutely love mine. Before I sold my 4-16x50, I also decided to compare the two after reading this thread. The 3-20 looked perfect, definitely no difference in glass quality.

The MTC turrets on this scope it the best I have felt. I can actually click .1 mil without jumping. The locks are not too tight ( I admit I wont use these to much).

The scope is actually shorter then the 4-16. I dont know about the others, but I purchased slightly used and mine is a home run.

..And yes I have had several 5-25x56s as well. Great scope, just huge. The 3-20x is the perfect balance of size and magnification. Best scope I have owned.
