Finally got to shoot my new FN TSR XP 300WSM today.
And WOW, what an incredibly smooth action she has!
My 1st cousin owns many rifles and was so impressed that he is
going to order one for himself. As a matter if fact, when I got home I went
ahead myself and pulled the trigger on another one but in
.308 with the 20"barrel. But......back to what the thread is abouy.
The only thing my cousin wanted to change was the trigger.
There was no over travel or creep. Broke crisp as you could ask
for. Just a tad too heavy @3.75#. I'm fine with it myself.
I must also add recoil was quite exceptable for a 300WSM.
It was actually outstanding. Back to the matter st hand.
From ehat I understand rifle basics are in the process if coming
up with an after market trigger for the FN's. My question is can
he or would a jewell trigger work? As I further understand it, FN
has different triggers on their PBR and SPR than on their
TSR XP models. The SPR&PBR being the same. Thx men.

Re: FN Bolt Rifle trigger

Please excuse the typos/errors. Our laptop is broke and its pita
to do all on a cell phone........maybe I oughta quit buying rifles
and buy a laptop eh? Nah.......

Re: FN Bolt Rifle trigger

Sorry men, my cousin called this am and
advised thay he was wrong about rifle basics
working on an after market trigger for FN
Its actually Timney from what he tells me now.
Just wanted to clear that up.

Re: FN Bolt Rifle trigger

I bought an FN SPR from a hide member last year, and it had a Basix trigger on it. I thought the trigger was amazing. Might try that way.

Re: FN Bolt Rifle trigger

I had fn a3g and with the claw type action I put a timiney in it. It worked ok if I was going to do it now I would go with a Jewell or basic

Cool. Thx for the 411. I shall relay it.

Re: FN Bolt Rifle trigger

I got a PBR and SPR with A3 stock.

Love the PBR, and the trigger has been adjusted, and barrel threaded to accept my SWC can.

FN advertised SPR with adjustable trigger but I found a bit difficult because they put some type of goo around the thread in the trigger mechanism.

Nonetheless, I love these less than 1MOA rifles.

Re: FN Bolt Rifle trigger

I hear ya Zombie. The SPR is the ultimate man.
I may.....just may have a Jewel trigger installed on mine.
Don't get me wrong, as like I said before there is no creep or after travel.
Just a tad heavy. Just a tad. But that's just me.
In a lot of ways, I wished I had more knowledge about the
SPR's a long time ago. I would have one today.
In of course addition to my Savage FCP SR.
I shall never part with that little witch.....

Re: FN Bolt Rifle trigger

A friend of mne installed a rifle basix trigger in his SPR and while a very nice, I have adjusted the triggers on my 3 SPR to the same level for just about 20 minutes of work each.
either way, great actions.

Re: FN Bolt Rifle trigger

Nothing wrong with the Winchester trigger, just adjust it correctly, I did both of my FN's and they work great.

Re: FN Bolt Rifle trigger

Yeah, they say dont mess with it unless you know what
you are doing. Its set at 3&3/4 pounds. It will go down to 3 pounds.
is that where you have yours Doug?
I reckon I would need to get the right person to do it.
