My father has an old Browning A5 12 that he's been huning with for the better part of 40 years. Receiver was made in 1927. It looks like hell and I'm pretty sure the barrel isn't original and I know the forearm isn't . Buttstock looks like it is. He's talked about getting it restored, reblued, etc. and I wanted to see if anyone here knows of a smith who might do such work. I'd like to surprise him and get it done for him. It doesn't really have a collectors value so I figure wth.
Figure it's something I'll put away when he's gone for my grandkids. Any recommendations or input would be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Layton
edt: It still shoots like a machine gun and mechanically it's in good shape. It's been taken care of.
