Suppressors Surefire .338 suppressor

Re: Surefire .338 suppressor

I believe it's because they failed to meet a military contract on it? Something about their suppressors having problems handling the pressures because of the spot welding they used on em.

I see, so have they just given up on the .338 market or are they re-working the suppressor?

Re: Surefire .338 suppressor

We took all the older style suppressors and adaptors off of the website because we are promoting the SOCOM line. We use the same type of welds on all of our suppressors that we use on the 338 suppressor and we have won the M4/MK18 contract by SOCOM and we also won the MK13 .300 win mag contract so don't worry about the welds we use. We actually use the welds that we use for a reason and it is not because it is cheaper because having someone welding a suppressor is not cheaper than a machine doing it.

So just to be sure I understand, your .338 Lapua suppressor and mount are still available, though not listed. I would just have to get with one of your retailers and have them order the suppressor and I would have to call and ask for the mount, yes?

Also, whats the minimum diameter barrel the mount can be installed on?

Thanks

Re: Surefire .338 suppressor

Yes the .338 suppressors and adaptors are still available the information just is not on our website at the moment. Just talk to one of our dealers and they can order it for you if they don't have it in stock.

The adaptor that is most common is for a 3/4X24 thread pattern.

Re: Surefire .338 suppressor

Ya I looked on there last night and about crapped myself. With the amount of Surefire gear I have I got worried when the most popular of them all was missing! I am very fond of the MB762SS muzzle device.

Let me also say that the 338LM suppressor that Surefire offers is doing just fine on my 338. I even have a 23" barrel and its shoots just great.
