I am still gathering parts for my AR project. The rifle is to be a SPR type for long range precision. Looking for suggestions on buffer, pins and small parts. Does buffer contribute to accuracy. I will be shooting with an Adj gas block and suppressor. Does anyone sell a quality "parts kit with the pins etc or do I order them part by part?
I have everything else ready to go.

Umm, hate to be rude but if you don't know about parts kits should you really be assembling a rifle?
Most manufacturers of ARs sell lower parts kits (LPK), you can get them with or without FCG, from $30(-FCG) on into the hundreds, some dealers will upgrade the FCG and/or grip as those are the two most commonly swapped parts. People will argue but for a BASIC kit I don't see how quality could differ or matter enough to justify the higher end, maybe I've just been lucky and never got a completely out of spec p.o.s.
Buffers don't affect accuracy, they do affect timing, and perceived recoil. Fixed stock/rifle receiver extension, just get a rifle buffer, or get the JP low mass system if you must have something different, collapsible stock/carbine receiver extension probably H2 maybe H3, but with adjustable gas it shouldn't matter as much, and lighter will cycle with lighter loads unsuppressed.

    Beef,
If you hate to be rude, did someone make you post that? Or did you want to be rude, but felt the need to make a pitiful excuse?
I do not mind being rude at all once I realize I am dealing with a with a smartass. It is not my nature, but I can rise to the occasion when called to do so.
Where did I say I am assembling a rifle? I am gathering parts. It will be professionally assembled. I have had dozens of builds done on bolt rifles and have learned that the builders will suggest you buy either what they have, what they can get quickly or what they make the most profit on. None of which I wish to have decide the parts used in my rifle.
Otherwise, thank you for your input.

Re: Buffer, pins and small parts.

There is a thread discussing the effect of the buffer spring on accuracy, it does matter. I haven't read/heard/experienced the same with the buffer itself. I am kind of partial to the Tubbs flat wire for the amount of compression cycles it is supposed to handle.

If this is .223, I think the buffer itself would only matter IF you have a 6 pos. stock or something along those lines. Then you might want to go to a slightly heavier buffer.

If this is the case I'd ask about the buffer to use in the suppressed forum.

Here's a picture of what comes in the average LPK, lower parts kit. I'm not a warfighter, I can't tell you if one brand is that much better than the other. I have used Armalite and DPMS with no problem. Some folks will say spend the extra money for Daniel Defense or the ever popular "mil-spec".

Only thing you wouldn't get would be for the port door on an upper.

    Great,
Thank you. I am using a UBR stock, and planned on the Tubb spring. Appericiate the input.

Re: Buffer, pins and small parts.

I've built tons of ARs with DPMS/Spikes/(I think Palmetto?) parts kits + whatever misc buffers and springs and have never had problems. The only thing I can see is use of a suppressor BUT the adj gas block, depending on what you get should help with that. Maybe consider a heavier carbine buffer like an H2 or H3 from Bravocompany.

You might have better results if you re-title your thread 'Proper buffer and spring for use with Suppressor'.

edit: FWIW Palmettostatearmory is having a sale, magpul CTR stock + MOE grip + magpul trigger guard + LPK and everything else you need = 150$. If you aren't married to the UBR stock I'd get that instead in a heartbeat. I run CTR/ACS/STR stocks on everything and they work great. The UBR is neat but heavy and felt weird not to mention a bit expensive.
