its been some time since i have shopped for them, but all of the lower priced models at brownells are discontinued, the kept les baer and fail zero and at BCM the $120-$130 ones are all out of stock but the $159 ones are in. is it just me? is there another source out there?

Re: have BCG's gone up or gotten scarce?

They haven't went up much but are getting hard to find at several places that used to stock them. AR parts in general are getting scarce since we are closer to the elections.

Try ironworkstactical.com and see if they have any..

Re: have BCG's gone up or gotten scarce?

They show up in stock various places pretty frequently, but if you are looking daily, they sellout pretty quick. In-stock notifications can be helpful, if the sites you frequent have them.

BCM has some in stock. They are a little more expensive, but are built right by all accounts. Worth the extra $20, IMHO.

Re: have BCG's gone up or gotten scarce?

Quality parts are always harder to find in stock at any moment.
I have found this to be especially true for BCG's, barrels and some lowers (like billets from Seekins or Mega).
You just have to keep trying or plan a head a bit.
YMMV

Re: have BCG's gone up or gotten scarce?

We have completely been out of stock at work for weeks on standard phosphate $130 BCGs. The only ones we can get are the $200 chrome plated ones that no one wants.

Re: have BCG's gone up or gotten scarce?

I waited for a BCM BCG, they seem to come into stock a few times a week, but you have to pounce fast once they are in stock. This is the heart of the rifle, saving a few bucks isn't worth it to me personally.

Re: have BCG's gone up or gotten scarce?

hell i figured 110-120 and maybe id get a 100 bargain if i happened upon one. id prefer a BCM just to have them staked proper. i have a model 1 sales thats barely dimpled and i havent had anyone with a MOAKS tool to swap it out.

i see the 120 and 150 at BCM and wonder why that variance is there too. but it also seems that everybody seems to have the higher cost product in stock while discontinuing or not having the lower prices in stock effectively constitutes a price bump.

my buddy always says "sure you can advertise a low cost, but when you get there and they dont have them in stock, what good is it?"

its not an immediate need so im not scrambling yet. i have an unused one i can put in this upper, and i can get a bolt to swap it between uppers but id rather be complete.

Re: have BCG's gone up or gotten scarce?

Lately I've had to buy parts from various different companies and assemble them myself. If you find the right deals you can still build your own for around $100. It has been difficult in the past 3 months to find a good deal on a BCG and the closer we get to the election the more they will go up.

Re: have BCG's gone up or gotten scarce?

i have always liked JSE. they have prices that you just cant beat. 130 for a chromed BCG is a deal vs the same cost for standard one. they had the best price for the 308 BCG i bought also. chrome was under what others were asking for standard

Re: have BCG's gone up or gotten scarce?

and why is that? ive only had three dealings and they were all good.

Re: have BCG's gone up or gotten scarce?

They sell whatever they can get the cheapest and often they are reject parts and seconds. Plus, they can be flat out bad to deal with if there ever is a problem. I'm right down the road from them and will go somewhere else.

Re: have BCG's gone up or gotten scarce?

I've had great luck with the LMT bcg's from Rainier arms.

Just looked, out of stock.
