Re: My new Stick

Very nice, I am working on my first custom build in a .260 as well. It will be in a Manners T5 rather than the AI, but pretty similar. Let us know how it shoots!

Re: My new Stick

I actually took it out yesterday and put only 50 rounds down range. First shot was about 1" left and 2" low. I made the adjustments on the scope an the next shot was dead center of the target. I proceeded to put the next 5 shots in pretty much the same hole. I moved around the target and up and down and knocked the centers out all my target. This was at 100 yards. I then moved to the 300 yard range and used the same style of 100 yard target and damn if I didn't do the same to that target. I was impressed with the overall ergos of the rifle and .260 is a nice shooting round with minimal recoil. I was shooting factory HSM match ammo with 123 grain scenar bullets. I am going to develop a custom round for it as soon as I have some time. It's a bit heavy but nothing I would mind carring to my deer stand. Can't wait to take her out to 1000 yards

I live in Houston.

I need suggestions on a good sling.

Re: My new Stick

That is a SEXY looking rifle!

As far as slings go, I really like my Blue Force Gear VCAS sling. Got a few in stock if you want to check 'em out and let me know if you're interested!

Re: My new Stick

Very nice looking rifle! Plus, it sounds like it shoots as well as it looks. Thanks for posting it.

Re: My new Stick

if it's shooting like that at 300 can't wait to see what it does when you get a better load worked up & stretch it out a little!

Re: My new Stick

Nice rig! What NF reticle did you go with? Looking for some comments on the new MOAR reticle.

I have a Mildot reticle with Mil Turets and it is just awesome. I went out to 1000 yards today for the first time. I first went to the 300 yard range and took six shots and was dialed in. I then moved right to the 1000 yard range and took two shots and got my scope settings dialed in. I was impressed with my groups at 1000 yards. There was a 12-15 mph wind from right to left. I then took 10 shots putting 4 of them in the center X ring 5 in the 10 ring just left of center and 1 in the 9 ring left of center and about 1-1/4" below the other 5 shots. I thought it was fairly good for my first time at that distance. My dad was working the pit and I did not think of having him take pictures of the target. I will do it next time and post them.

I absolutely love this thing! I am going to shoot in my first match a 300 yrd prone in two weeks.

Re: My new Stick

Beautiful rifle and a great round. I just got my Savage Model 12 LRP in 260. I love it. As far as the HSM ammo goes, it is really good ammo, but my rifle didn't like the HSM with 130grain Bergers, just for future reference, I have heard the 130's can be finicky with some guns. I threw some Corbon 142grainers down range and they'll drive tacks. I may try those 123's you used, just to see how they shoot through my gun. I've heard great things about them. For 1000 yard shooting, give something in the 140 grain range a try and see how they do, they may shoot tighter at those long distances than the 123's :)

Again, great job. That's a hell of a set up man..

I just picked up some 142gr HSM match ammo and will give it a try as soon as I can. I would like to hear some info on a custom load if anyone has one worked up.
