I sent my Les Baer TRS to the experts over at Alchemy to add a few upgrades to my favorite 1911. I will first say that the customer service is top notch and Rob truly goes above and beyond in that respect. This may not mean much to some but this seems to be somewhat rare now days and says a lot about how they run their business. They truly take care of their customers.

The quality of work and attention to detail are excellent and I will sending any work I have their way in the future. I had a small order compared to most they take in but just from what I have experienced I would advise anyone thinking of having work done on their 1911's to keep AC in mind. Their pricing, lead time, and customer service are excellent. I literally have had nothing but a positive experience with Alchemy. Thanks Rob and you'll be hearing from me soon.

As for the gun I had the following added:
-AC's gold bead front sight (really fast and easy to aquire)
-10-8 rear sight
-Ball cuts (match perfectly and my personal preference)
-Trigger work (zero and I mean zero creep and lightened)
-Bearcoat (time will tell as for durability but I like the look and even coating)

And for what everyone really wants, the pics. I'm not very good at these but I'll get better...

beautiful Gun. I am getting ready to buy another SRP... Love the Baer's

what model ZT is that in the pic? it looks awesome!

Re: Les Baer worked over by Alchemy Custom

really dark pics, looks good from what i can see.

Re: Les Baer worked over by Alchemy Custom

I really like the black trigger and the rear-only serrations.

I am a huge fan of 10-8's components, too, and have their rear sight on my carry gun. It doesn't seem like it really fits the profile of your slide's round topping though, and it would have been a nice touch, perhaps, to modify it a bit to fit the slide profile.

Also, you're really missing out by not having a magwell on that gun. I went without for years, but it really is an amazing benefit, especially if you don't carry the gun concealed.

Re: Les Baer worked over by Alchemy Custom

i personally believe they are. I have had most high end 1911's and Browns, Baer's, are as good as any i have had.

Re: Les Baer worked over by Alchemy Custom

Overwatch- Thanks, its a 0561 Hinderer design

BJ- Sorry tried my best

njnicky- Thats for you to decide, its worth my money. If you think a Kimber is good enough then it is. If a Baer isn't good enough and you need a Chuck Rogers then you do. Everyone is different.

Thanks for the reply, I do carry this gun nearly daily and have no desire for this one to have a magwell. I have been considering a 1 peice magwell for my DW Valor though, just cant bring myself to it. I just dont speed load very often or shoot competitions. We will see, my ADD may kick in and I'll just keep adding stuff!

Bravo, my brother, Bravo. Taking an already superior 1911 system and ramping it up a couple of notches!! I have had the gold bead system done to 3 of my primary defense handgun systems and absolutely praise them!!!In my opinion it is far faster for pickup and target acquisition than the standard tritium or 3 dot systems. But that is for my ageing eyes, some of our younger members may still prefer the 3 dot or tritium systems still. But anyway this is an excellent example of an 1911 system.

Thanks, I was a little skeptical at first of the gold bead but once I saw one in person I fell in love with it. Its just so quick and your eye has no choice but to focus on the front sight. The 3 dots are just a little slow and you actually have to think, which well I'm not so good at
