Has anyone used this powder in the 7mm Dakota with 180 bergers or the 168 bergers?
How was your speed and accuracy?
And what were your startiing loads?
Thanks

Re: Rl-17 and 7mm Dakota, any loads?

Hi there 7dktaNut welcome, I am using 2 powders for my 7Dakota,
H1000 and Retumbo, I shoot 180gr Berger hybrids and the 190gr Matrix bullets from my gun, my go to loads are 74.5grs retumbo and the 180hybrids, and 72.8grs h1000 with 190 matrix bullets, my speeds are between 2950fps for the 190's and 3020 for the 180's from a 25" krieger barrel. Work up to these loads as on my gun they close to the max. I would start with both powders at 70grs with these bullet weights and work up. Both my loads can shoot half moa to 1000yards if all is good with conditions and me.

+1 I'm running H1000 and Retumbo in mine, with Cauterucio 189s and Berger 180s.

COAL depends upon your reamer. My reamer is custom (and sitting in my garage), and set up for longer than normal seating to get the heavy 7mm bullets up out of the powder column.

Whats your coal touching the lands with both of your bullets? Curious as to what it is compared to my reamer specs?
Thx

Re: Rl-17 and 7mm Dakota, any loads?

I'm in the process of that right now ... Gettin a reamer built . By my measurements I can seat my bullets to a coal of 3.600 that gives about .400 of bullet into the case which is just below where the shoulder and neck meet . My barrel should finish out to about 27" . So would I have to reduce the charge amounts because of the extra barrel length ? I'm pretty excited to hear .5 moa results .... That's exactly what I am hopin for as well .

030" for the 190's and 015" for the 180s.
