Having no opportunito to shoot either...from those who have experience with this caliber firle:
Would U choose a GAP or AI..? the accuracy seems equal in both (accuracy is key) , but one is much more expensive...
    Soooo What are your feelings/opnions/advice?
    Thanks so much.

Think you meant for this to go in the bolt action section, not semi-auto.

Both great setups, but the AI was built for war, so if ultimate durability is the key, go AI. If you want a rifle you can configure to your exact specs, go GAP.

    Re: Which 300 Win Mag???

You might want to ask a Mod to move this over to the Bolt Rifle forum for full visibility. For a second there I thought there were now multiple manufacturers putting out 300WM semis in a tactical setup!

And I agree with Hawk on how to make the choice except to add the AIs also have increased user serviceability inherent with the design for barrel changes and the like.

    Re: Which 300 Win Mag???

I have a GAP .300WM and it is a laser - honestly, it is the most accurate rifle I have ever owned. That said, I want an AI. A couple years ago I sold a GAP .308 to help fund an AW in .308 - I am sold on the system. However, an AI in .300 WM is @ 2x more than a GAP and they are very rare on the used market (you can not throw a rock in the for sale section without hitting a .338, but there may have been 1, maybe 2 .300 WMs that have come up in the last 2 yrs).

Supposedly AI is going to release an AX version of the Win Mag soon (based on an old post on this site discussing the AX when it first came out).

I will say this, my GAP is 2 or 3 #s lighter than an AI.

    Good luck

This is really gread advice..kind of like need and desire..

At the dept. store a guy had a very hot saleswoman..she asked him his desire..he replied that he disired to take her away and ravish her.., but what he needed was a pair of socks...
