Anyone running an Apex T-1. I'm torn between this and a M2008 for a 260 build. Currently have a Defiance on the way for a 300WM and looking to try something a little different.
Thanks

Why? I've learned one thing in rifles, stay away from bleeding edge for the new toys. It never seems to act like it should in the first few runs.

If you really want a full custom, go Surgeon. If you've never tried an AI AE MkIII then I'd highly recommend calling Mile High and getting one on order in a 260. It's the 3 lug like the JP, but it works like the Energizer bunny......

Re: Apex T-1 action?

I like the Surgeons, and Bat's for that matter. I like the integral lug but the integral rail is what is turning me off. I would like to me able to run a full length top rail.
I know that it won't matter with the Badger as the chassis options are limited.
I have never had my hands on a AI, suppose I should but i was looking to piece the build together.
Price wise the Badger seems liek a great deal, understanding that some amount of tweaking may be necessary.
All the others I have considered (Bat, McMillan, Surgeon etc..) all run about the same.
Thanks again for the feedback...I would hate to make the investment uniformed

Re: Apex T-1 action?

The Badger is a great deal.

The JP rifle was a Cooper action I have been told, which are readily available (as a full rifle anyway).

How about a Bighorn. AJ makes a very nice action at a great price.

Re: Apex T-1 action?

Take a look at the Pierce Engineering as well, they often get overlooked. Single piece bolt/handle, sako style extractor, side bolt release, integrated recoil lug and 20 MOA base

This is the Pierce "multiflat" SA designed for the AICS chassis, but as you can see you can fit any action in nearly any stock with the right mods

Captian Kirk,

That is a good looking action and rifle. Just curious how your bolt feels with the diamond fluting during cycling. Any clicking action or feel.

Yea, feels like a old school hand crank coffee grinder......

Its smooth as glass, stays that way when things get dusty and dirty too
