I haven't had the best success with Wolf primers but would like gold color primers. Anyone else make them??

Appreciate it,

Re: Who makes gold color primers other than Wolf?

??? All my Wolf primers are silver in color.

The only gold color primers I have are made by Winchester.

...and the only gold color primers I have are Remington 9 and a half?

Re: Who makes gold color primers other than Wolf?

If I find platinum primers, does anyone have tips on how to reload primers?????

The very best and most uniform primers are made from Boobaroo. See video below for explaination. Skip to start at 3:00 minutes in.

Re: Who makes gold color primers other than Wolf?

yeah, haha etc. But, as far as I am concerned, it is sometimes an identification issue if you have more than one rifle chambered for a particular cartridge. A quick glance and you know which ammo goes with which rifle. There are other things you can do, like I use hollow point bullets in one and ballistic tips in the other. I don't know if this is the reason for the original question, but I don't think it's a silly question. BB

But then they all come out of the tumbler looking the same.

Re: Who makes gold color primers other than Wolf?

No, when they're empty and you toss the brass all in the tumbler together. If you're shooting the same or similar looking bullets it helps keeping loads seperate.

Re: Who makes gold color primers other than Wolf?

A sharpie is excellent for marking loads, for any reason. I do it all the time, write on the side the charge weight, OAL, too many reasons to list, but it's quite different when you have rifles that are chambered for the same cartridge. I don't see what's so hard to understand about segregating cases/cartridges that have a completely different purpose? I might even have them in the same pocket so I can tell just by feeling the tips. In a hunting application. BB

Re: Who makes gold color primers other than Wolf?

Yes, but nothing beats Unobtainium, which is what all our primers will be made of if we blow this election.

Why don't we drop all this nitpicking for a few weeks, and devote ourselves to ensuring the future of all our avocations?

It's about the piorities, folks...

Just do it...

Look guys. I posted what I did in good fun. No snide ugly intent was intended.

I agree with you 100% Greg.

BB I never thought it was a silly question either. However I doubt very seriously that one couldn't have found the information, asked for by the OP, with a judicious google search. Of all the people that should appreciate these facts, BB you have surprised me.

Re: Who makes gold color primers other than Wolf?

Yeah, that's the story of my life; surprises!

But, don't worry, I am sweating this election as if, (and it is) the most important in my lifetime. BB

edit: armor~ Amigo, hold the fort for me. I'm going hunting, screw it, I need to kill something. Be back Monday.

Re: Who makes gold color primers other than Wolf?

lol Yeah I wondered what type of smartass responses I might get to that question.

For those of you that shoot at ranges that dont allow reloads, silver primers kinda give you away

Greg... I hole hearted agree that we need to assure our future.... however.... if you're spending the time to respond to my post......

Thanks guys, Winchester and Remington. Thank you.

Re: Who makes gold color primers other than Wolf?

As far as I'm concerned, a public, (or private, for that matter) range that doesn't allow handloads is worthless. Sounds like some dumb lawyer thought it up as a liability issue. I have never heard of such a thing, and my personal belief is that anybody that owns a centerfire rifle should reload for that rifle. That may sound inflexible, and for that, I am sorry but a shooter than doesn't handload is missing a lot of education and knowledge and superior quality ammunition. That's a lot to leave at the door for the privilege of patronizing a narrowminded establishment. I'd go elsewhere. BB

Re: Who makes gold color primers other than Wolf?

Trying to blend because your range doesn't allow reloads? Well then that changes the entire concept of the question entirely.
My advice is find a range that likes shooters, guns, and especially thrifty people who handload their own ammo.

Re: Who makes gold color primers other than Wolf?

Ranges that disallow handloads are essentially just coppin' out and knuckling under to the whole ration of PC tripe that insists we all fit into a lowest common denominator mold. Better to just say no than to embrace anything the smacks of individuality or an effort to excel beyond the plain vanilla junk ammo tehy just hapopoen to sell in their store out front.

I've even seen ranges insist that shooters have to buy all the ammo they shooot from the store out front, and it's usually some brand-x remanufactured crap ammo sold at ourtrageously expensive prices. Moreover, all expended brass is the property of the range. There are apparently enough sheeple, even in the ranks of shooters, that this crap flies and keeps on flying

They are part of the problem, and it's no small problem.

As much as I dislke diss'ing any part of the shooting sports world, those people do not need to enjoy our warmest regard and support.

Re: Who makes gold color primers other than Wolf?

Next they will be restricting you to FMJ like some of the indoor ranges around here. I believe the rationale has something to do with GLOBAL WARMING, which is settled science, according to Al Gore. Just kidding, but the justification is just as shaky; handloads are dangerous and might blow up and hurt somebody. BB
