Been surfing a boat load of places reading up on AR stuff for another build i am going to do. I am doing a Seekins build with a Noveske barrel to try out as i have never had 1 put together. Over the years all the AR,s i did have were bought stock off the shelf. So anyhow i am waiting on the upper for another type Seekins build and was thinking of trying out 1 of Les Baers barrels for it. So far all the times i had heard of someone with 1 of his rifles they seemed to be tack drivers. Would like to order a barrel blank from Bartlain but sure they are way backed up and would more than likely be a long long wait for it. Anyone out their useing 1 of these on a build or have any opinions?

    Thanks,
    Dan

    Re: Les Baer barrels

Dan, ill throw my 2 cents in. I have a Les Baer .308 ultimate monolith. I think LB's barrels are fine, but there is more to his rifles then just his barrels. Mine does shoot like you have read about, but if I was in your position, I would buy a bartlein like you are talking about. I think they are just about the best barrel out there.

    Re: Les Baer barrels

My two cents also: I have a Baer .308 Monoliith, 18" barrel similar to beenjamin's and la 264lbc with a 20" barrel. Both shoot .5MOA or better. Yes, there is more to these rifles than the barrel but Les' are well known for their accuracy. If you can get one sooner than you can get a Bartlein I'd suggest you go for it. I don't think you'll be disappointed

One thought on the Bartlein - you will need to buy a blank and find someone to contour and fit it for you. Bartlein does not sell an AR10 contour barrel.

Wonder if GAP might have some that would work?

    Re: Les Baer barrels

I bought one from GAP awhile back (and have one in my GAP-10). My point was that you can't simply call up Bartlein and order an AR10 barrel.

    Re: Les Baer barrels

1 of the 2 builds i am doing is the 6 Creedmore. Was going to send the parts to them and have them build it but right now they are not taking anything but the GAP 10 builds. I ordered a reamer from Dave Kiff yesterday and lucked out he had a reamer on the shelf ready to go the same as GA,s reamer. It is on it,s way and just need a barrel for that build also. Maybe they have a couple 6mm spares laying around and can part with 1. I think i will call. If not i heard somewhere that Brux may be able to do me 1 up. I have used several of their barrels and have been more than happy with them.

    Re: Les Baer barrels

We do make AR10 type contoured barrels. We have two standard patterns. A heavy and a med. contour but we don't sell drop in AR10 barrels. They are contoured but not threaded, chambered, gas ported or muzzle crowned.

Why? To many variations out there for AR10 type guns. Also at times trying to obtain parts like barrel extensions can be very sporadic and a barrel for a Armalite vs. Knights Armament etc... have different threads etc....and the barrel extensions don't readily interchange etc....

Just to many variables to contend with for a drop in barrel.

Don't sweat it bud! We don't list them on the website because then some think they are drop in barrels and that's what we don't do.

    Re: Les Baer barrels

I bought a 6.5mm AR10 Bartlein barrel from CS Tactical not too long ago. Call them.

I'm having APA working on the barrel, 3-4 month turn around.
