Just wondering if anyone carries them or if they have to be purchased from them directly? I see that tgss shows them, but not in stock.

Are they hard to get right now? What's the cost as well?

Was going to order a Stiller, but if the price isn't much different I may go this route...

I can't help you with a stocking dealer, but I can tell you the Bighorn action is worth the wait. AJ hooked me up with a Tactical Short Action to drop into my KMW Sentinel stock with integrated mounting block. AJ had my Bighorn to me within 4 weeks of placing the order.

I have a Stiller TAC-30 as well, but prefer the Bighorn.

Call BJ at 3rd Generation. Sometimes he has them in stock when they aren't listed on the website.
If he doesn't have one call AJ.

What's the cost? I saw it on tgss, but does that include the rail, recoil lug, etc? Same price as from Bighorn?

Re: Anyone have Bighorn SA Sporter or Tact in stock?

BH action is $995, $75 for the rail and $35 for the recoil lug.

I got mine straight from AJ. It's at Beanlands right now. Hopefully be finished pretty quick. It was a 12 week wait when I ordered mine in February.

+1

If you can wait AJ has his new action coming out soon, integrated recoil lug with one piece bolt.

Re: Anyone have Bighorn SA Sporter or Tact in stock?

Any timeframe on this? I have been wanting to do a build off a bighorn but would want to wait if he has one with those specs coming out. No integrated rail though?

Re: Anyone have Bighorn SA Sporter or Tact in stock?

The ETA should be soon. I was at his shop a few weeks ago and and he had about 20 or so actions in the final stages. No integrated rail.

Re: Anyone have Bighorn SA Sporter or Tact in stock?

My next build will be based off of the new Bighorn action.

Waiting patiently.

Re: Anyone have Bighorn SA Sporter or Tact in stock?

I'm a little confused.

Isn't the floating bolt head one of the distinguishing features of the Bighorn action?
And doesn't the floating bolt head offer advantages over a one-piece bolt?

Thanks.

Re: Anyone have Bighorn SA Sporter or Tact in stock?

The bolt handle is machined with the body so that's the "one piece" part. The head will stay the same "floating".

Re: Anyone have Bighorn SA Sporter or Tact in stock?

I have been trying to keep a few at Third Generation Shooting Supply and at Trigger Time Gun Club, this helps me avoid being on the phone and allows me to get more done in the shop. Although with the orders and production levels I am having a hard time keeping up and most times I am 12 weeks out or more on deliveries. I am trying to up my production to get ahead of the orders but that hasn't happened yet. I have been working on a new model that will have an integral recoil lug in the Remmy position which will drop directly into all the chassis systems. This should solve the problems with my action being .300 longer and the need for spacers or modifications to stocks. I am also working on a one piece bolt shaft and handle. It will still have a floating bolt head and a threaded on knob. These added features are going to force me to increase the price of this new action but I think the added benefits will be worth it. These new actions are not going to be readily available for some time and all that are in the 1st batch of production have been spoken for. I have enough confidence in this new design that I have started a 2nd batch of 300 but with all the processes needed to make these they won’t be ready for months. As always my main goal is to do my best to make one of the highest quality actions on the market. Just for the record I have no plans on ever making an integral picatinny rail as I feel there is more flexibility with a screwed on rail. Hope this clears up some of the confusion. And I apologies for the long waits but my 1st priority is quality my production should increase with time as I get all my tooling, processes, and programs dialed in.

Re: Anyone have Bighorn SA Sporter or Tact in stock?

Thanks Shane C.
They sound even better now.

Re: Anyone have Bighorn SA Sporter or Tact in stock?

Hey AJ, I sent you an email about those new integral recoil lug actions. Is there any way I can go on a waiting list?

Thank you
